Best weapons to make crews abandon their vehicle?
As someone who often tries to collect as much gear as possible to sort through. I am wondering what equipment is best for disabling the various vehicles without destroying them? I've seen some screenshots where people have amassed every vehicle in the mission, in one case Tortuga, save for the integrator vehicles.

I'm assuming it's largely trial and error and a ton of reloading saves. But if someone can help narrow things down to save time. I'd appreciate it.

the one you want early game is the plasma machine gun drop by the rev 6 terminators, because you are not getting those till very late and they are good against everything, you can use to as heavy weapons team or on armored transports.

other wise just look for upgrade lmg drop by some allies or enemyies for your rilfe men.
the 50 cali snipers are every where. and some time there are lazer snipers.

I think there's some rng to it as well, Sometimes things blow up an right after a restart the same target has the crew dismount so i dunno if your gonna get anything consistent,

Keeping everything becomes expensive quickly an not really worth it, An after all is said an done Upgraded Abrams ftw.

Sure but if I am blowing up every unit I want to salvage for either keeping or selling then I just don't get anything.

Sure but if I am blowing up every unit I want to salvage for either keeping or selling then I just don't get anything.

I'm guessing your still early in the campaign?

I understand what u are trying to do, I was doing it too early game, But really doesn't make a difference as it seems there are always some abandoned vehicles on the map to not have to worry about trying to get every enemy vehicle u encounter to have it's crew dismount so u can scrap it

Yeah just finished the Tortuga mission and there are some Mortar Humvees at the back of the map that I want but kept destroying.

Best bet seems to be low-damage, fast-firing weapons capable of penetrating the target, so stuff like M2s for light vehicles and plasma MGs for medium, or heavies from the side. I've also had fires/bails from VERY lucky hits with high-damage weapons, but you seem to get less "dice rolls" there. Just make sure to turn off your weapons when the crew bails so you don't kill the vehicle with strays, then carefully eliminate the crew before the fire clears. Snipers work well for this.

Example, had the Cartel Bradley catch fire and bail after a hit from the Integrator Plasma Artillery in Tortuga once, but literally 100 save-scums attempting to replicate this for science resulted in either near-misses that did nothing or direct hits that exploded it instantly.

One thing that does seem a bit more consistent is to deal heavy, disabling damage to a vehicle, then pull back while having hidden troops with anti-infantry weapons nearby. When the crew of the target vehicle feels safe, they might get out to repair, at which point you can gun them down. Very finnicky and micro-intensive though.

Cartel missions.... yeah i think i only made it out with 1, An to b honest with you it'd b nice if you could go into those missions with it, As after it you won't find a use for it so sell for credits
