other wise just look for upgrade lmg drop by some allies or enemyies for your rilfe men.
the 50 cali snipers are every where. and some time there are lazer snipers.
Keeping everything becomes expensive quickly an not really worth it, An after all is said an done Upgraded Abrams ftw.
I'm guessing your still early in the campaign?
I understand what u are trying to do, I was doing it too early game, But really doesn't make a difference as it seems there are always some abandoned vehicles on the map to not have to worry about trying to get every enemy vehicle u encounter to have it's crew dismount so u can scrap it
Example, had the Cartel Bradley catch fire and bail after a hit from the Integrator Plasma Artillery in Tortuga once, but literally 100 save-scums attempting to replicate this for science resulted in either near-misses that did nothing or direct hits that exploded it instantly.
One thing that does seem a bit more consistent is to deal heavy, disabling damage to a vehicle, then pull back while having hidden troops with anti-infantry weapons nearby. When the crew of the target vehicle feels safe, they might get out to repair, at which point you can gun them down. Very finnicky and micro-intensive though.
Cartel missions.... yeah i think i only made it out with 1, An to b honest with you it'd b nice if you could go into those missions with it, As after it you won't find a use for it so sell for credits
For humvees: RPG, laser snipers and M20 (when armored)
For Stryker: RPG (couple of shots), and M20. Plasma M20 when armored
For Bradley: ATGM, Plasma M20, 120mm shell
For Abrams: ATGM (2~3), Heavy Plasma, 120mm Shell
