So about that armored Trailer, How crazy can you go with this thing?
So just how Customization is this thing? Like what sort of Armor and Weaponry can you slap on it? Obviously it requires some Investment but I'm willing to slap down the "goodwill" Dollars to do it.

You can cover it in heavy armour(eventually),put an HMG and a 25mm cannon(default bradley main gun) on it after the Abiqu mission. So it very quickly becomes great for charging in and holding down a point on a map while the troops that were in it enter nearby buildings.

You can put two dozen militia with plasma in a trailer and almost all of them will shoot from the loopholes. And whoever does not shoot from the loopholes will shoot from weapons mounted on the roof (you can put an also ATGM and, for example, a 20mm rotary gun on the roof in the same way as on Bradley).
Thats 3 squads of Militia (8 dudes each at full strength). You can mount a ATGM on this thing?! Hmm Probably a upgrade from the Integrators i bet.

Speaking of Loopholes, What exactly can units fire out of those holes? I would assume just Small arms fire (Rifles, LMGs, Sniper Rifles maybe). Cus Id imagine firing a Rocket Launcher, even a Recoil less rifle in a Enclosed space is a REALLY BAD IDEA (Back blast, Concussion).

In addition to the shooting troops, for me personally, it is important that the tractor goes first (I use an armored dozer with a minigun on the roof). The dozer primarily distracts enemies on itself (RPG, ATGM, etc.). If it is hit, then the trailer either manages to fend off the enemies on its own, or you can temporarily land one (or all if there is an antitank menace to your trailer) large squad of militia from it and probaly one RPG squad (as your antitank reserve) and fully engage in battle. On missions like Vega, I wouldn't trade a trailer for a second Bradley, for example.

Best to have both IMHO. A pack of Bradleys with attack-move command (Q) is a feast for the eyes. A Dozer with fully loaded armored trailer trying to keep up while shooting all guns is just the cherry on top. :lunar2019grinningpig:

Meanwhile the Abrams just is like "Bu bu.. but.. wait for me!"

Will weapons teams shoot from the inside?

I would ASSUME only with their "small arms" (pistols, smgs, Rifles, extera), cus firing a Rocket Launcher or Recoilless Rifle in a Enclosed space like that probably isn't a good idea. (back blast and concussive force)

Also units that fire from inside it seems to have a fire rate debuff because they fire very slowly.

The only good use I found for it is equipping it with a grenade launcher and put right behind a short building so it can lob grenades at enemies without being hit back. When enemies want to make the turn to get line of fire they get shredded by the 20mm minigun

It's a beast with Steel Armor on it and the Tractor, and a combination of a 20mm, minigun, and grenade launcher between the two. The 5k ammo capacity on the trailer is also great for resupplying your infantry without bringing a dedicated supply truck.

I prefer the Tractor to the Dozer because of the speed and supply cost, though the Dozer is more survivable. It's great for rolling up on occupied buildings to clear them of enemy infantry in this configuration so long as they don't have a ton of RPGs.

Not really a heavy assault unit like a tank or Bradley, but with the engine upgrade on the truck it's a good quick-reaction unit and can hold choke points against infantry and light vehicle reinforcements by itself almost indefinitely while your heavier units push. Just very good all-around utility.
