Also the the Stryker auto remotely controlled weapon is removed if you add any weapon in it slot. This means that the gun has to be manned in the open. When you add carbon or Ceramic armor the M113 gunner gets a gun shielded, which protects form them being picked of. Given how plasma are more powerful and have a higher rate of fire, I use the M113 with armor upgrades.
At the end thought trading in a M113 or a Stryker for a Bradley is always the better option.
I would not keep more M113 or Stryker than you can armor with more then junk armor. And it should be noted that the Intergrators have a Bradly at the start of the game that you can buy form them if you visit the first camp.
Note the M113 has 6 tow missile, while the Stryker will only have 3, if you replace the main weapon with a tow.
I use two strykers with plasma MG right no and there are no gunners.
Im currently having quiete a bit of fun with lvl 4 driver in Stryker. With the basic 50cal it almost shoots continuesly . Im almost starting to believe that 50cal is better than plasma mg because of it. Not getting the gunner killed due to small arms is the best thing about it anyway.
I also dont like having too many Bradleys. You can tech. get 5 before Vega (If I remember correctly) but you dont get more than 2 Tank squads... sooo you are giving exp to technicians, but they dont have good upgrades from higher lvls. Why not keep a smaller ,more efficient force and focus on giving exp to squads that get alot better over time.
Restarted and have 6 strykers now and life is good. 1 M113 with ATMG is eh, really didn't need to get even one - Bradleys double this functinality as well, plus we can have cheap cans/technicals for the same accuracy and from the same range indeed.
I fail to find a role for M113 honestly.
Armor helps but you are dead if you are slow.
I tend to use the M113 as defensive plateforms, with plasma RR and TOW launchers, the Stryker are more of an offensive option that follow the armored pushes with the Bradleys. The M113 if I remember correctly carry more ammo than the stryker, so you can also use them to resuplly in some intense firefights (when you're stuck in your building shooting as ennemies also in cover).
