We have to wait almost 6 months for FINISHED GAME.
DLC? ♥♥♥♥ it.
Waiting is pointless. I'm leaving this game.

Well I did notice this morning that the leaderboards seem to have been wiped and "Dakar Rally USA" is now listed under the 'simulation' tab.....so who knows, maybe soon.

Or maybe they're just broken ;)

Thanks for the info. Have they mentioned if v1.6 is a simultaneous release for all platforms? Or will consoles have to wait a month or so for the update like last time around?

I can't wait for us to finally get free-roam, only for it to be massively buggy, have some ridiculous catch to make it terrible, and make us disappointed all over again

Not sure if our Community Managers already mentioned, but we have recently finished the development of the v1.6 patch update that includes the FREE ROAM, as planned in the DAKAR DR ROAD MAP.
While the tests and certifications for consoles are ongoing we are working on update 1.7.

What's coming next (January / February 2023):
1.6 - FREE MODE > FREE ROAM / TREASURE HUNT
1.7 - LANGUAGE PACK (MORE TEXT LANGUAGES AND VOICE OVER LANGUAGES) + STEERING WHEELS DEVICE WIZARD

What's coming after that (Until June 2023):
1.8 - ROAD BOOK EDITOR
1.9 - TEAM CUSTOMIZATION
2.0 - REPLAY AND PHOTO MODE

So patch 1.6 is done and they're waiting for console certification to release it on PC and consoles. 1.6 will also include more setup possibilities :

That is included in the setup configuration that will be available on v1.6.
By default the assists will be "ON", you can disable them and do it manually. That will allow everyone to have fun.

i hope we see more tweaks to the AI. They still drive like maniacs with like 100% no matter what across dunes, etc. It would improve the simulation experience alot if this can be better.

hope they fix the fatal errors, but I doubt it. I haven't touched the game in a month now. not playable.

downloading now, first thing to try is desert wings rally, that fatal errors every time without fail for me. i will report back.

nope. Fatal Error still. Also now has micro-stutters about every 10 seconds aswell, so is worse than before.

We appreciate your patience while our team has been hard at work hard on patches and updates to Dakar Desert Rally. We know this has taken longer than expected, so we wanted to say thank you for all of your feedback and support since the launch.

Today we’re granting all pilots 100,000 Experience Points and 10,000 Dakar Points with our 1.6 patch release.

This patch is just the first of many great content updates we have planned. Stay tuned for more info soon!

New Features
Free Roam allows players to experience the full off-road experience across Saudi Arabia.
Treasure Hunting is now available in Free Roam Mode. You have the opportunity to find hidden treasures throughout the desert as you explore Saudi Arabia
Reposition has been added to Simulation Mode.
General
Fixed Save Game Management issues.
Removed waypoint auto-saves.
Fixed when some events on the Saudi Arabia Extended Map are not appearing in Professional and Simulation Modes.
Fixed Warehouse Management issues.
Steering Wheels
Fixed Thrustmaster wheels having no Force Feedback on the PC.
Fixed G29 key bindings (reverse) Bug fixing Crashes.
