However, I have to say that there are a lot of setbacks when it comes to simulating rallies.
There are a number of impractical rules.
Among them, the most fatal part is the part that "If it is not 8th place or higher, it will be rounded down".
In a real rally, it is possible to start the next stage if you reach the bivouac even if you have machine trouble.
In this game, even if you run without any trouble, you can't advance to the next stage if you're in 9th place.
This is not a rally raid, let alone a Dakar.
It's not an arcade game either, although the sport mode attempts to give a Forza Horizon -style experience. You have basic vehicle dynamics like oversteer and understeer, catching slides with countersteer, managing torque and wheel spin with gears, weight transfer especially on jumps, and car setups that have clear effects on the handling. The navigation on the other hand is very realistic and probably too much for someone only accustomed to arcade games, although many aspects of the rally raid rules have been "gamified" (no your Dakar isn't over in real life if you flip the car or finish 9th in a stage).
i´m still waiting to full release this game, because this „beta version“ is a big disappointment for all who believed in the developers. Note. i´m not refunded. (mountain of promises deed tek)
Also, you can blaze across the landscape at Mach 1 with no harm no foul.. Bushes and small rocks have no impact on handing or speed. Rough and rutted terrain isn't modeled so everything is smooth as glass and has no impact on upseting the vehicle suspension or handling. Very vanilla and very boring. The only challenge here is reading the navigation and you really don't even need it like in Dakar 18. The stage design here is more direct and layed out in an unrealistic fashion compared to 18.
Overall a very disappointing experience more so designed for casual gamers.
dont buy it, it has nothing to do with a simulation anyway. its not even finished, has tons of issues which are not fixed and most of the players cant even play the game. The Average of people playing the Game in the last few days are 95 Players Worldwide! So in my opinion, they cant even fix the Game. I wonder if they really fix everything for a already dead game..... i recommend you: Dont buy it!
Turn off ABS and Traction control in the options.
