How do I quit?
I'm in the middle of the Great Cave and I need to stop soon, how do I quit? Preferably safely so I don't lose my progress?

Okay I'm seeing now that it's autosaving my progress... but is there REALLY no way to quit normally? The only way I can exit the game is to alt-tab, then force-close it from the taskbar.

This isn't a dealbreaker or anything, it's a lovely game... but that should be addressed. allow the game to be closed with the ESC button or something (preferably with a yes/no prompt asking to make sure).

I was trying to find a way earlier and my only solution was to Alt + F4 out of the game

Please tell me the developers forgot to add a quit function to this game? you can't be serious

I searched again yesterday (i had a bit more free time), clicked EVERYWHERE, tried most "known" keyboard shortcut... there is no "ingame" menu and no "quit" button (at least that I could find) ;)

I almost can't believe they forgot to put a quit button anywhere in the game, but I've seen it happen once or twice before. I think it's a product of oversight when making a PC version of a modern console game.

Because on a console, you never quit from inside the game, you pull up a system overlay menu, or return to the home screen, and quit from there. Technically the 'official' way to quit this game is the same, but having to alt-tab, win-key, ctrl-esc, alt-f4, etc is how we close things that are broken, usually.

What's worse is that the developer doesn't seem to be around to acknowledge this, which is why I ultimately refunded this. It's a cute game, but if a dev isn't around on day 1, 2, or so far 3 to address anybody's questions or concerns, that's always a bad sign IMO.

I know I said earlier that it wasn't a dealbreaker.. but it's expensive and I didn't like the gameplay that much anyway. I love the presentation, and all the interactivity, but it was ultimately not quite fun enough for $30. Maybe in the future on sale.

Very good explanation which is probably accurate (and totally understandable) that the game being made for console first never had a main menu/quit function...

The devs posted a news on Sept 13th
"Contact Information for In-Game Issues
(...)
please get in touch via the Contact page on our official website."

meaning they might not be checking the forums much... (perhaps they dont have english people and/or need to translate everything... just speculation here)

Yeah I sent them an email about the lack of a close option this morning, a little while after my last comment here. I also said that I think it's important to actually check these boards instead of relying on the email only, since a large amount of people use these boards to report bugs, or ask questions that may or may not need developer knowledge to address.

Never did hear back on that email. It's been over a month and I just remembered that I should have been expecting to hear something, or see an update here.

I went ahead and asked on their website for a quit option. Perhaps several people asking may get noticed.
