Seems like a lot of work was put into the customization, which is nice. But so far there appears to have been much less work put into making it feel good to actually play moment to moment. Even super obvious things like jumps taking so long to start, or platforms that have physical bumps in-between them that make the camera jitter, were just apparently left as-is for no discernable reason.
Seems like it could be decently fun once it's had a lot more polish put into it. But given how few games seem to actually put much polish into things nowadays, it's a little bit worrying at the moment. Still time to fix things, of course, but the demo probably should have had a good bit more time in the oven before coming out.
So TBH some clunkiness is foreseeable.
