Howdy, you have to drop a piece of meat for him each for five days without scaring him away. The wolf will start spawning around the village after the first quest from old lady

aww sounds good. may be a good idea to further explain that in the quest. all it says is try to tame and throw meat

So is it a specific wolf or any wolf? I'm really struggling with the quest.

When I get to the top of the hill, there is a boar fighting him - which aggros on me and then he is scared away. Do I just need to go back to the village to have him respawn?

It’s stupid hard. I actually talked about it in another post. The wolf will be on one of the hills in the green circle, it has to be a certain one I believe, but when you do drop meat for the right one it will make the quest yellow instead of white. That’s how you know you have initiated the quest (it’s different from other quest). The wolf also might have an arrow above it showing its direction (unless it’s bugged out).
Several times of trying to do this it was fighting some type of predator and died and would swap to a different wolf within the green circle. Making it stupid hard.

After you have successfully dropped the meat and the quest yellows out, you will have to go back to the tribe and wait for the wolf to show up at your camp, from there you just have to be extremely careful and watch for him to show up, and drop one piece of meat each day he visits (without scaring him off) and drop the meat close enough for him to find it.

This quest honestly needs to be done better. It’s too easy to scare the wolf, and it’s always fighting something that will kill it when you go to the green circle.

Thanks for the feedback. This whole wolf is about 20% done from the things we have in Trello, but we decided it's fine for now, and we will get back to it once other more pressing issues are solved. Thanks for understanding and helping others! :stylizedheart:

Ah it’s good you’ll be coming back to it! It’s definitely not a big deal compared to the other pressing issues, the quest is possible regardless so I’d say it is definitely something that can wait. Keep up the good work guys the game is heading in a very good direction!

Howdy, you just toss it our of the inventory / hotbar (drag an click)

But be careful, you can spook the wolf from a pretty good distance away, and you have to drop the meat relatively close to the wolf before it’ll eat it, so it’s a bit counter productive. Unless they fixed that

That is true. Thanks for pointing that out! If you use sneak, throw away the meat, and then go away, the wolf will go for it. It's easier not to try to get close to the wolf but rather wait for it to make the move. Once the first part of the quest is done. The wolf will spawn around your village daily, and you have to do that 5x more.

So once it starts to come to the village, it only walks a one line path, rarely did I see it walk off of that path, so I’d wait for it to walk to its farthest point away and then drop the meat quickly and get away. It does work, it’s just hard with how easy it is to spook. I do really love this feature though. It was actually one of my favorite things that you added!

Thanks! Thats awesome. I believe I have already wrote this somewhere, but the quest is only like 20% done and we would like to get to it back once all the others stuff are in place. Have a great New Year btw!

Ahh okay I wasn’t aware, thank you for that information! Happy new year to you as well friend!
the threshold for it getting scared is too sensitive and a ♥♥♥♥♥ to figure out, takes days to find out what a safe distance might be.
