This is a relatively early shrine mission that is extremely outside the normal difficulty curve for the game. When I first did it I ended up assuming that 'cursed', combined with the flavour text saying to dodge enemies, meant that they were immortal and you just had to run through the level and trigger the objectives without killing enemies.
I also got 1 level 5 Shinobi EX gem, which is nice but there are much easier ways to get multiples of that.
I'll run it again and see if I can get more than 1 in a run.
Also, worth noting that it does not drop from 'Seal! Cursed Skulls ~Report Canyon~' which is an easier mission in general and drops Shinobi EX (level 4 IIRC). I ran that mission a lot trying to farm Shinobi and never got a Ult Awakening from there even though they look like the same enemies.
After that level 2 and 3 of trial of mind are not hard if you are appropriately levelled with a decent built. I'd recommend ranged weapons and don't forget your Green F-drive gives you increased ranged weapon recharge and healing, which is handy since you can't use items.
It's called 'trial of mind' and really it's the puzzle of how to do it that is not immediately obvious. I guess I spoiled that but I figure if you are reading this you just want to know how to do it.
I could not find anything on the web about getting this gem, so even though I'm talking to myself, I figure somebody might find it in the future who had the same questions I had.
As far as getting this gem in the early game, it is such a low drop chance from a level that is such a pain to do, that I would not even consider it as viable. Since you can eventually reliably farm level 10s without too much trouble once you know how, it's a great option for an end-game build.
