best characters + best associations

As far as I can tell in 40 hours playing there is no Lily system or special attack synergy, you just have 2 characters to work with.

At one point I used on as a run-and-gun shuriken thrower and the other as a brawler. It is possible to get through most levels using only one character, especially as you get better at the game and have access to more powerful upgrades.

You could set up one character with all farming stuff (increased drop chance) but have the other character buffed out with attack and defence stuff for the harder enemies. You could set up one for Yokai and one for Legion, or one for trash enemies and one for bosses (though you usually get a chance to swap out your build before the bigger boss fights).

I usually run both with the same build, and only swap over if I run out of F.Drive charges, or if I run out of healing items in a boss fight.

After using a few different characters I like Blanc the best, her moves flow well together and she has good stuff for closing a gap or sweeping an area. I'm learning to play Neptune now. There are other characters I played for awhile that I found a but cumbersome or situational. There are several characters I haven't tried yet.

Miyabi + White Heart

They are who I used to carry me through all the Shinobi trials at endgame.

Of all the characters I've played, White Heart is the best. Her moves all flow together and playing her feels like a proper action combat games. Most of the other characters feel stilted and clunky.

Miyabi has the same sort of flow as White Heart, but she also has large AoE attacks. I believe she also has a quick straight line super like White Heart.

And when you just want to spam a super for max DPS, well, Miyabi has that covered as well:
