How to find hidden hats?

Sometimes the hats are berried deep. Is there a radar or a scanner thing in the game?

Yes, you have a radar bottom left of your hud showing on a quite long range 180° the collectible (if there is any). It's not 100% super accurate due to the range being quite massive, but it should help you a lot

Green is for the Agility orb
Yellow is for Hats (and artifact if i remember correctly)
Blue for weapons
Purple for Perks
