If you know the Devs other game, you will know the dev is big on Replay ability. Severed Steel has more Replay ability features than any game I know. It will come in time.

If you treat this game like a sandbox it has a lot more replayability than you may think.

There's so many ways to mix up the gameplay with the various perks and weapons, such as:

  • Gungame
  • Focusing on knocking enemies off into oblivion with grapple/hoverboard/air burst
  • Lowering your health and using Panic Button perk to spam explosives
  • Using just the pump action shotgun and bolt action sniper rifle and swapping between the two to reload cancel
  • Explosive spam with the help of perks such as Tony Glock and Feed the Beast
  • Going full sweat-lord with one life mode.

That's not even getting into all the other stuff that's likely coming. This is the perfect game if you're looking for something that you can hop in quickly and play for a bit.

If your entire idea of replayability is needing the game to give you an arbitrary task to do. None. Its not a game for the braindead.

If your idea of replayability is the game continuing to be fun and engaging then well, plenty. Every arena is replayable.

That was insulting dude. I agree with the last paragraph. First paragraph was unnecessary.

The first line does come across as rude. But let's face it, over the years, the definition of replayability has kind of changed into what is suggested there.

The game has a very very deep perk system some of which change the game play drastically, the arenas after beating the space station boss give a good flavour of the same.

That should give you enough replayability on its own. However, knowing the devs, they'll be adding a bunch of post launch content. So, there's likely more to look forward to.

I’m thinking of getting the game and I’m also looking for long replayability. Has the devs mentioned what type of stuff will be added in future updates?

There's more detail in later articles about what's going to come in the immediate future.

These aren't empty promises either. Greylock's previous game, Severed Steel, received plenty of post release content over the years.

Awesome thanks! I’ll check it out

It's mid at best once you beat the last boss. Just stupid challenges like "only use one gun, but it has unlimited ammo." Great game, but it's very shallow. Beat it in about 6 hours or so. They are coming out with more content in 2025 though. It's really fun, just very short unless you like being locked to a single weapon or something to complete all of the generic challenges.
