Btw, fyi (1): Wand of Chaos can be taken out of Staff of Knowledge, but not put back in.
This makes it unusable after doing so. It also consequentially means players go back to using whatever grid they naturally get during the course of their run.
(Closing and reopening the game fixes issue.)
Btw (2): 3 slot Scarecrow would be better.
Btw (3): The Scarecrow doesn't affect Bosses. You can get a disabled enemy-type as a Boss, despite it being disabled.
Worst boss ever, wow, hahaha! At least that means it's memorable then? Seriously though, what don't you like about it? The design principles for it were the same as prior Bosses.
1) You should be able to put it back in, it's just tricky to get the UI opened correctly. However, when you reload your game, it should go back into the Staff automatically regardless.
2) More useful of course, but more powerful!
3) True, this is intended! I could update the game to reflect that.
My only problems are the Research level stealing and the weirdness around being able to damage it.
I think on the First & Second Phases I spent an hour each trying to kill it, before I finally got too annoyed and dropped almost all of my Q4 runes and one-shot it on the Third.
As for the Research: It's only a problem because the mini-houses themselves are also weirdly hard to kill (Or that's how it seems, since I can't see a health bar...)
Scarecrow (Boss):
Yeah it should be updated to reflect that, it's more than a bit misleading.
Scarecrow (Slots): I just want 3 so I can remove all three of the self-healing enemy-types.
I hate self-healing mobs with a passion.
Side note: I think Silence might be blocking ESE application.
Just had a weird instance where ESE's weren't applied to some Necromancers after they got affected by the Mouse Totem (Which applies the Silence debuff).
Ok, thanks for the clarification and thoughts! I may tune the difficulty. Also, I think the one-shotting Phase 3 thing is a bug...it was reported before but I could never reproduce it myself...interesting...
Well, restarting the game fixes it, so I wouldn't call that totally bricked! Regardless, I just pushed an update which fixes the issue.
Growing pains for Era 5 work getting done behind the scenes! :-)
I'm shooting for mid-November! But it's possible that things wrap up quickly and it's finished in October.
Also just to let you know: the Houselings were totally bugged, which is what made the fight so miserable! I've changed it a ton as well, so the houses take 2.5x as long to complete the circle, only 1 spawns at a time, and it only kills the wizard now instead of nuking a research :)
Btw weird bug that apparently got added with one of the recent updates:
The cast indicator says it's completing, but it's not actually casting when it has, and it's doing so far faster than it actually should be.
I appreciate that! Found the problem and got it fixed. The cause of this one (and a few others) is upgrading the engine to support multiple "spell users" at once for Era 5 :-)
Btw there's some weirdness going on that I just noticed: Steam apparently doesn't recognize that this game has achievements.
