Is the Sebo minigame impossible to win?
I'm quite sure the defense round in the coffee shop is impossible to win, the starting position simply doesn't allow a winning move

Sebo minigame
Hello, i've been playing the demo and everything seems very promising so far. I tried playing the sebo minigame, but i'm insure about the rules. I won a round as "attack" and was asked to play a round as "defense", which I lose, and that made me lose the whole game.
Tried another game, this time I started as "defense", and lose. I expected another round where I would play as "attack", but nope, that was it, insta lose.

So.. What is the deal ? Can't the npcs lose at sebo during the demo ? I'm a bit unsure as to why my opponent had a second round to win after he lost the 1st round, while I don't if i lose it.

Hey Folks. It's certainly possible to win in Sebo but you do have to win the attack and defence modes to get a "full win". There are some strategies to find here, as well as coins with unique abilities to help you on your way within the main game.

I don't think it's possible to win the defense in the first coffee shop without a special coin or something. They move first, you have to block a triangle from being formed at the top otherwise you'll lose immediately, they take their second move, and you are instantly at a spot where you cannot win because they have two possible moves to create a triangle and your other pieces are too far away. Trust me, it is not possible, it's not that complex of a game. I assume you aren't really supposed to play right then at the beginning, but it's a pretty funny oversight.

So, I actually had this problem in the demo. But I managed to win in the full version. I'm not sure if it's because the AI derped out, or if it's simply because of the fact that the faster you win the attack phase, the fewer turns the opponent gets to retaliate... I didn't know that last part back when I tried the demo.

I finally beat this first defense round at the coffeehouse but it took about 6-8 tries and I assume it was more a quirk of the AI taking a different move than me doing anything different/better. Was pretty annoying though.

AI behaves strangely in these mini games for sure.
A few of the matches made sense and felt like I won by actually using my brain.
The rest were more like "repeat until AI decides to do something really stupid."

Some starting positions are very locked so it's easy to block any movement. Special coins help though. Both the player and AI

It's impossible to win the very first tutorial game with Baz in the first Coffee Shop. The defending board ensures a win for Baz every time. His first move forces you to move your piece to block his triangle. Then his second move sets up another near triangle, and the only piece you can use to block it is the one you just moved. If you move it away to block the second triangle, he completes the first triangle. If you move a different piece towards his second triangle, it doesn't block anything and he completes his second triangle.

It's literally impossible to win the tutorial.

Literally from the first "tutorial" game for the first defense:

There is only one possible move here.

Afterwards he always moves here and you can't win, unless the enemy AI does something random (tried 4 times then gave up) .

That speaks volumes of the quality of the game if that is your tutorial of the main mini-game.
I just let my girlfriend play the sebo part for me, she's so good at it.
