Speed Run achievement
Hi, some thoughts about Speed Run achievement. To anyone trying to complete it in a "regular" run - good luck, 22 min timer is almost impossible to break.

Having 200+ hours and all challenges completed several times, i simply could not complete it in time on lowest possible difficulty (adept), despite minimizing number of encounters, quick restarts after non-synergetic hero comps, knowing almost all items/recipies/passives by hard and overall optimizing run strats. A4 bosses are so diverse, that not having a comp (and items!) that addresses their specific needs may easily end up in a wipe, despite A1-A3 smooth run. I managed to get few 22:XX scores when winning, and much more 20-21:XX ending in a wipe due to not being prepared enough for A4 challenges.

You would basically need very good RNG to save time on rerolls and get specyfic item recipies that would speed up encounters from the very start. I know it IS possible, simply extremely hard and luck-based to pull off.

However, one can earn the achiev during challenges - I managed to get mine on first try with One Man Army (as always Elora O.P.A.F.), in less then 16 minutes.

Still - IMO this type of achievement should be limited to "regular" game mode, where it really puts to test one's knowledge of game and quick decision making. Just make the time limit a bit less punishing, like 24 minutes. Or at least pause in-game timer on transition and hero picking screens :P

Anything where you have to mentally keep a stop watch outside the game to keep track is a trash achievement. Just there because the game allows the back end to keep track.

I completed the speedrun challenge with Kara in about 15 minutes, hitting over a million damage, and I defeated the final boss in 6 seconds. See the screenshots below for my build.

Try to focus on the following items for her so she doesn’t waste time running around :
either this item :

or that one :

Also, if you have it, use this item, it’s broken on her :

After that, focus on Ether damage for your other items and it will be a breeze. Then, you can go for physical and magic damage for your base items, and it will be smooth sailing. Enjoy!"

PS : I was lucky to get the ideal build this time, but it can still work without having it. I was ahead by 7 minutes. With a bit of practice, you'll get a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t, and you'll improve.

What items to focus on for Elora? No matter what I try, the first fight in Act4 always kills me.

And its not even close - I kill everything within couple of seconds but the spider dude is a full stop.

Edit: nvm - done it with Kara.

Try the mana max item (phisical dmg + mana max) then etheral amplification.

Did it with that stuff work well (base item the one who give mana max + physic damage) The origine I take is very broken too with her :

I ran an Adept for this and it took me about 3 hours between multiple run attempts and restarts for key units. My run came in at 20:56 and mainly focused on Atreos being a dummy thicc tank (+reborn) and Pyro with mana regen and % spell power surge. I'll fully admit I got super lucky with Atreos and Pyro items being basically perfect even for a normal run, and then I just stacked frost where I could. So if you're an idiot like me who didn't realize you could do misc achievements in the challenge modes, it's not even as bad as you might think (still not great tho)

Another viable option is Snowy Reborn for a solo impossible, I got a 13:52 on him.

The trick with Snowy is to go for a mix of high spellpower and attack (ignore everything else), get omnicrit if you can, and fish throughout the run for a mega drill. Once you have it, the build is on autopilot.

...and I just had a 21:45 with Joanna, of all people. It is definitely very luck based, I grinded a lot to get from sub-25 to sub-22. I think I finally had THE god run I had been hoping for. Early handy staff for survivability, early connection ring of course, early staff of the elements, a double blue drakes passive from a quest, two scrolls of blue flykes, a serrated fist for large damage and a skeleton staff to round it all up with omnicrit. I was able to triplicate the Scorpion relic (!), I trusted the Starving Beasts origin for some reason and lo and behold, a Bloody Mace, right at the start of act 3.

Some characters are really harder to speedrun with than others.

But this Joanna was a beauty. 102 crits out of 132 attacks and 412 stacks of bleed over the 7.1 seconds of the final boss fight.
