stumbling out of the gate ?

I have finished my first playthrough and got the corruption ending. it was a lot of fun but naturally, I want to start a pure run now.

My question is: Two achievements seem to indicate that you can end the first day without even opening the first room in Auras mind.
But how? I cant find the option to just end the phase without opening the door.

you need to end the day without enough corruption to open the gate.
the church has enough blessed waters on sale for this.

It's relatively easy to achieve. The secret is using a Blessed Water as Aura on day one, so that Alicia has less than 4 corruption and can't afford to open the gate.

Mind you, that's quite wasteful for a regular run, but it's fine to do it once to get the achievement, then reload your save and end the day without using that Blessed Water.

I refuse to call it wasteful.

Any chance for Aura to be incredibly smug at someone is totally worth it.

Ha ha ha. Okay, fair enough. I know I would miss that Blessed Water down the line, but that smug response to Alicia is pretty awesome, true. Might be worth doing a run when that start works, though I imagine it would require some NG+ benefits to save a few days here and there.
