countering recoil
So recoil is an effect where a % of your damage to enemies is dealt to yourself.
The only method i've been able to find to counter recoil is to reduce your damage and or crit damage. This is terrible for a dps character though as you'll either kill yourself eventually or not do enough damage to kill the bosses before they kill you.

Is there anything else that can be used to counter recoil like a shock absorber effect or something? Do any of the methods of reducing damage like physical resistance work against recoil damage?

The only way is simply not using the item that has recoil stat. It's there so that DPS characters won't use it and can be used by something else

So what your saying is that the Murasame which is a katana with recoil for DPS characters like Katana main and Bowtanas is there so that DPS characters won't use it??? I don't think that makes any sense whatsoever. What's the point in making something so that no one would use it. Who's gonna use a Murasame if not a DPS character?

Your logic here has a gap considering this weapon with recoil exists in game. You've basically said the weapon is completely worthless.

to counter recoil effectively, you need to utilize healing potions and proration techniques, as well as one of the combo effects that can heal you based on your damage.

So that vampire effect doesn't really work on a dps character if it does so much damage in 1 hit that the character takes more damage than it has. The reason that doesn't work is because the healing effect takes places shortly after all the damage has been done. By this point your already dead and the healing effect will not take place after your death.

As for the potion idea, sorry that doesn't work either unless I don't attack with any attack skills until my potion is off cooldown. That's one heck of a long boss fight your suggesting I subject myself to.

I would get kicked from every party for just being a waste of space. So far your basically saying what Xen basically said. Don't get any recoil on a dps character if you want to be useful. There is no counter to recoil beyond not having it or just being a useless bump on a log as a dps character.

Wasn't there a way to use a Recoil/DPS/INT/DEX build to heal yourself at one point?

Or am I wrong?

And as for Murasame if used with the right things and build, You can both Recoil and One-Hit enemies.

There is also a build that is solely reliant on the vampire effect causing you to take almost no damage. (You take damage that brings you down to 21 hit points.)

then heal everything back upon your next hit, when the effect works.
I don't know anything about the build your talking about but that's at least some progress to really answering my question. Simply stating use the vampire effect doesn't help but if there is a way to use it to take almost no damage and then heal would be something. Just need to know exactly how that works and how you would build it.
If vampire effect does work that way and prevents you from dying from recoil, that's useful information that wasn't mentioned before. Of course, still need to know if that really is how it works or if just wishful thinking.

Doesn't stop recoil entirely only 30% of it.

Trying to find a way to increase it, But 9% of the time when using certain items with vampire effect (And INT or DEX) will lower recoil, have not found any other ways though.
