Graveyard Mechanic.
Maybe this is just me being obtuse, but I didn't figure out the graveyard didn't cycle cards back into my deck like most deckbuilders until I'd gotten to an encounter where I ran out of cards. Embarrassingly, I just now realized I could have attacked the last enemy to death, but frankly it's an easy couple of things to miss/forget given the context of the game.

I don't know if it's a big enough a deal, but I think some kind of indicator or means to draw attention to the deck/graveyard mechanic would be wise, and perhaps something added to the tutorial to remind new players to conserve spells by attacking more often.

Thank you for an otherwise pretty interesting game so far. The early boss was... a bit of a kick in the balls, I'm not gonna lie, but you guys seem to already be aware of that problem.

Be well.

balancing wise, I can see the point but i do agree, tutorial should just mention graveyard is not cycling back to deck so player don't have to learn from first mistake and ditch entire run.

that's also make discard deck (blue+green? didn't try yet) kind of bad for value per card imo.

its in either in the tutorial or a tooltip or something, I 100% figured it out early because it said that it was only refreshed via some shrine or another.

Oh, yeah no. If you mouse over the graveyard, it tells you that it refreshes at shrines or when it's... consecrated? I think?

Issue is that I have no idea what consecration is, and I thought it might be what happens when you fully run dry on cards.

Graveyard going into deck after the deck is empty is a very ubiquitous mechanic in deckbuilders, or at least those I've played, so this one was a shock.

There is a curio that becomes available late in the game that modifies your graveyard to work that way, and it is incredibly powerful with Traveler decks. Keep in mind that most deckbuilders don't allow you to keep your entire deck in your hand from one turn to the next.

I... never claimed they did. That being said, I've just started, so that's cool to know there's a way to do this. No idea what that entails because one of the many head injuries I sustained as a child probably smoothed out my tactical thinking, but it's good to know regardless.

I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth... I just wanted to explain why it makes sense that the reliable reshuffle behavior that most deckbuilders use isn't the default behavior here so that you maybe wouldn't find it as frustrating to have to budget your library.

I think you'll figure out how to get massive value out of that curio once you've collected more cards. The best cards aren't available in starter packs. Good hunting... cheers.

The tutorial literally forces you to use the tome shrine? Which reshuffles your deck? It’s kinda obvious unless you did full melee before then.

It didn't really give a tool-tip or anything, so I didn't notice.

The tutorial forces you to use a shrine, but it doesn't have to be the tome shrine.
...again, no tool tip. Didn't even notice.

Hey guys! Fressato here.

We are back from BIG Festival and I'm finally able to proper answer this thread. :SlimeHat:

I'm glad you brought up this issue, I've seem some players also struggling with this mechanic early in the game. I will be sure that we add more clarity to the text and how the mechanic works, also on the Tome Shrine activation effects.

This will come in the 1.1 update, thank you all for being so passionate about the game! Hope you guys enjoy what we are planning to bring in this following months! :DDHaste:
