Just finished this one after beating the first game not too long ago. Both games are tagged as metroidvanias. The first one is not, this one however certainly is. You have a full free roam, interconnected map, along with two unlockable power ups that allow you to progress to areas you could not before.

I think I actually enjoyed the first game a bit more than this one, but I'm not fully sure why that is. I've thought about it a bit, and come to the conclusion that I just like the simplicity of the first game more, and felt the controls were a bit tighter overall.

This entry is very good though. It has a an overall larger feeling map, more playtime, better visuals, sound effects, and unlike the first game, music. It is harder than the first and will grant you more of a challenge, and the additions of power ups for explorations and puzzles is a nice touch. The one use consumable pitchfork from the first game has also been turned into a permanent part of the character. It's now a throwable ranged weapon that can also be used as leverage for platforming. I feel like most people would enjoy this entry more than the first if you want to only pick one to play.

If the dev ever decides to make a third entry, I'll likely pick it up. I enjoyed both of these games enough to easily want to give more of their games a chance.
