Some resource modifiers are not applied during crisis, this needs to be telegraphed (unless this is a bug)
Crisis disadvantage is a great idea, but torns is kinda stupid, you are forced to either kill citizens yourself or allow crisis to do it with no way out (walls are useless due to unblockable parts). Can I split torns in two with only one of normal/heavy units would do self-damage
Oligarchy is still the best government BTW ^_^
I would be very happy if there were some adjustments here. At the moment, I feel more like an ant that is simply trampled to death in a fight like this. To stay with the image: At least the strength of a pitbull wouldn't be bad, so that I can at least bite my opponent's calves, even if it's still not even remotely a fair fight.
It just takes 1 hit and my civilization is fallen - and i had that now multiple times - i am not even through with my 4th research.
Am i doing something wrong? all my best heros from before can do nothing?
For the first levels, try to not explore / do quests and wait until you get hill forts. Then, rush quarry. Spamming forts will get you far. I try to get just one mamooth/lizard to get the food bonus and get higher pop (= higher science) and i stop exploring then until my build starts to be in order.
Use magnitude improvement ! If you have a hero with a +stone/sec, use it on your quarry workshop. If not, use it on your max level quarries improvements. Increasing the magnitude of an improvement is basically adding another max level improvement for a 2 workers cost, which is cheap compared to expanding on the map.
There are some traps though : don't use it on food unless you're really starved for science (+35% food is not worth 2 workers) or on fortresses/villages
Those huns wipe me every time and I can only do a percent or two damage. I'm starting to try to save my colossus stacks and use my faster wonder charging hero.
We'll see!
