Question about ending/playthrough !!!SPOILERS!!!

Well, first of all I want to then developers for this piece of art! Really, with such a small team do such an amazing game is a great feat!
But my question is of another matter. It's really sad that cat-girl dies, is there any way in game to prevent it and get a better ending? I know that in real life we can't prevent all loses, no matter how hard we try, but maybe in a game? Please, tell me that I just missed something, and I'll be glad to play the game for the second time (I probably will anyway).
EDIT: Forgot to mention - I played the game on Steam Deck, and it works perfectly! Hopefully you'll get green "Verified" badge for deck soon!

Hi! I'm glad you liked our little game :)
I'm afraid there is no alternative ending. We put a lot of thought into this event in the game and finally decided that it was best for the story if Bati died . Underneath the friendly facade of the game lies a deep message that we wanted to resonate with people long after they finished the game.

Thank you for the answer! I understand and respect your decision, and it does not make the game any worse, it's just me being oversensitive recently.
