Bug Reports (Official Thread)
Please report any bugs you find in this thread so I can more easily keep track of what has/hasn't been fixed. Thank you for taking the time to report a bug!

If you're able to reproduce the bug every time, it'll be very useful to include the reproduction steps so I can replicate it while I work on a fix.

If you're still experiencing the bug, depending on how difficult it is to reproduce, I may also ask you to email me your save file at eturulja@thosewhorule.com so I can replicate exactly what's going on.

Local save location: C:\Users\{your_username}\AppData\LocalLow\eBrothers LLC\Those Who Rule\thoseWhoRuleSaveFinalV1_{X}.es3 (Where 'X' is the save slot, 0 if it's a mid-battle "continue save").

Local log location: C:\Users\{your_username}\AppData\LocalLow\eBrothers LLC\Those Who Rule\Player.log and Player-pref.log

Again, thank you so much, and I'm sorry if you ran into a bug. I will try to get any reported fixed as quickly as possible, and I appreciate your patience.

I went to restart chapter 1 by going back to the main menu, and when I did, the title screen turned into this weird mixture of title screen and in-game pause screen. On this bugged screen that looked kind of like the real title screen, the menu options in included "end turn" and "main menu". I clicked the main menu option, and when I did, it sent me back to the start of the chapter one map, but now I had 2 of every friendly unit and all enemies were duplicated.

Okay just reproduced this. Thank you so much for reporting it! Working on a fix now.

Chapter 3 - I started the chapter's map, exited the game to go do something irl, came back and skipped the initial dialogue about the chests because I had already seen it. On the next turn, the dialogue given by the pirates who are standing by the tavern was blank and then the game soft locked.

Edit - Upon loading the save after the soft lock, I am randomly getting soft locked after taking certain units turns. I think it might be a problem with the save/load system.

Not sure if this is a bugged or not, but the UI is super large? Not sure if this is supposed to be intended this way or not? The dialog screen takes up almost half the screen and the character images also are cut off at the top, definitely seems to be a resolution issue but I don't see an option to change that anywhere. I tried both window and full screen, same issues on both.

Heyo got some small UI bugs, first conversation menu text was too big, secondly does sometimes not show Character portraits when visual novel dialog is played had it in the first chapter and with Hilga and sven portrait.

Found another bug,

Game got stuck after fighter talked with no dialogue (prob the pirates that get out of the pub in chapter 3)

Ps I skipped some chapters bcs of demo maybe that's why?

Thank you! I have the fix for the first issue you reported. Will start working on this. It seems to be something to do with skipping the dialogue too quickly, but it only happens on chapter reloads from what I've seen. And I haven't seen it happen if you save in the base portion yet. Will try to get a patch out today.

This could be a resolution bug. I tried my best to support higher resolutions but most of my testing was done on 1080p. If you send me a screenshot of what you're seeing and your monitor resolution to eturulja@thosewhorule.com I'll track it as a bug and try to get a fix out for it asap. I'm surprised you'd still see the issue in windowed mode though. The character portraits should definitely not be cut off, that's a bug. If you set to windowed mode, save, and re-launch the game do you still see the issue?

Hmmm you shouldn't be able to skip any chapters because of the demo, the saves are named differently. But that's very interesting it was able to do it as it'll save me some headache in re-enabling the demo. Can you sent your resolution and a screenshot to me at eturulja@thosewhorule.com for the conversation size issue. Thank you for taking the time to report this!!

Okay, so I set it window mode, saved, then re-launch game, still an issue. Then I realized, likely the problem is the fact that I am on a ultra wide monitor. I noticed that the borders on each side had some sort of weird cut off, so I adjusted the window size to those borders, saved, re-launched, and boom looks like its fixed. The UI size looks normal now and the characters aren't cut off.

So I believe the issue is the fact that I use ultra wide + resolution not supported here. Resolution is 2560x1080.

Ah yes I haven't been able to do testing on ultra-wide as I don't have one myself. Sorry you experienced the bug, but thank you so much for finding a work around! Will let others know these steps if they want to play with ultra wide. Also thanks for the resolution, I'll add it to the testing sheet.

Idk if this is a bug or not but in Chapter 5, I completed the side objectives and saved people, but my party members acted like I just slaughtered them all in the dialogue after the map. Also, two "bandit" units are now in my base and seem to be in my army now.

Also, small typo on Thrillbeat. The "f" in for is missing.

Am I posting on this thread too much? Would you rather me just wait until I have 5 bugs saved up and then post them all, or is 1 at a time okay?

Thank you! And no, how you're doing it is perfectly fine and greatly appreciated! Fixed the typo, and I'd be interested in seeing your save file if you can send it to eturulja@thosewhorule.com. If you completed the saving objective for 3 units, Slyker and Elias should remark on how the priests plan worked, but Illyana will still be upset, though less so than if you had killed them all. In chapter 6, did you have the reward conversation between Slyker and Kaelith? That is based on units saved as well. Also yes there is a little issue with units being "recruited" before they are actually in the story. This is something I'll have to figure out how I want to handle changing.

Again, thank you for the feedback!
Chapter 5 bug: (Mild Spoilers)

Trying to complete bonus objectives with Cedric to use salvation 3 times. I used it on a bandit archer that had a loot icon on it that was below 50% life. never got credit for it and was not able to do anything but end my turn. Had to completely restart the game to get controls of my army working again. It also happened again with one of the bandits with a food icon as well.

Update:
Doesn't seem to just be salvation. Melee attacks on the female archer with the food icon at the entrance to the cave are causing the game to bug out. It freezes but you can still go around the map but not command or do anything. Music still plays.

How do I send you my save file? Where is the save located on my computer?
Slyker and Elias acted like I killed them all, they never mentioned the priest's plan. I did have the reward conversation between Slyker and Kaelith though.

This is a strange one, I just tried to reproduce it by using salvation on the unit with an item and it worked as expected. I'm wondering if it might be something specifically with your save. Could you send it to me at eturulja@thosewhorule.com so I can try and reproduce it and get you unblocked? Location is at the top of this thread.

Local save location: C:\Users\{your_username}\AppData\LocalLow\eBrothers LLC\Those Who Rule\thoseWhoRuleSaveFinalV1_{X}.es3 (Where 'X' is the save slot, 0 if it's a mid-battle "continue save").

That is strange then, the number is clearly saved correctly if you got the conversation, but it looks like for some reason it didn't register in time for the conversation.

Bug Report: I was playing the Pirate Mission and had to quit in the middle of the mission. When I reloaded the Chapter, the money I had spent buying items was still spent, but I no longer had the items. In other words, I lost the money and the items. I had to use the main menu option 'Restart Chapter' from the beginning to get my money back.

Related Feedback: Is there a 'Rotate Screen' button? I'm not sure how hard that is to implement, but the reason I had to quit in the middle of the mission was that a building was blocking my view (the ones to the right at the start of the mission) and there was NO indication that there were 'hidden' tiles that could be traversed. No pathing highlights on either side, no visible tiles, nothing. Enemy Greatsword wielder just walked right behind my lines and double backstabbed me, killing two of my characters. Please implement a way to make it clear where tiles are located. It doesn't have to be a 'Rotate Screen' option, but it's silly that I have to restart the entire mission because I literally cannot see where the tiles due to object obfuscation.

Other than that, really enjoying the game so far!

Thanks for the feedback! Currently looking into how people are getting into the state where the money is spent on restarting the chapter. I fixed a bug similar to it pre-launch in the demo, but seems to have come back up. Best way to avoid it for now is to do a save after you're done in the base before continuing, but I'm sorry you're experiencing it I'll try to get it fixed ASAP.

And I think I know the tiles you're talking about in the right side of the map. No option to rotate right now, but I'm going to go ahead and disable those tiles because you're right you don't have a great indication that they can be traversed besides moving the cursor onto them. With the 3D isometric style I went with, it's something I tried to watch out for while designing the maps. Generally it should be if you can't see the tile, you can't move onto it, but that obviously slipped through.

Thanks again for the feedback and support!
