Restart Chapter...again...
I really wish this game had a undo or roll back feature kinda like Fire Emblem 3 houses. With how RNG dependent a lot of the combat is it gets quite annoying to have to replay allllllllll the cut scenes every time you make a bad play and someone dies from getting hit by 3 20% to hit attacks in a row...

I'm not sure if it will happen, and I know that the restart battle feature is on the way (which will def help!), but someway of saving my time 45 min into an hour and a half long battle would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This game teaches you think about every move because of the absence of turn-by-turn save ;)

Fortunately, this run I've only re-started the battle twice, when I didn't realize you only had to save 5 of the 6 villagers and tried to save all 6 back in chapter 6.

Thanks for the feedback Ryuu1011!

I have a couple things in the works to address this like the Restart Chapter button you mentioned, as well as changing defeat conditions for casual/normal when playing with perma-death disabled so your main characters dying don't cause a game over.

One thing I'll not is you can currently hit ENTER/Return to on the keyboard to skip all scenes which may help speed things up while I work to get those out. Hope this at least helps a bit to currently speed things up!

yes, it really sucks having to replay the whole chapter especially when I made it to the very end, and then made a mistake by sending in one of the main character. the damn battles are long so replay the whole chapter is a chore and not fun! we need some form of quick save! this game is excellent on the tactical strategy part, but unfortunately replay the whole chapter is a game killer for me.

Thanks for the feedback wowgeese, and sorry the experience us frustrating when that happens.

I'm working on changing the loss conditions if you're playing on casual/normal with perma-death off to be your entire team dying rather than just the main three to avoid the scenarios where they're dying at the end.

I absolutely do not enjoy replaying battles I've already won, so I'll make negative review right now.

Hey Kref, no worries, sorry you ran into some frustration with the defeat conditions.

I'm going to be changing the defeat conditions on casual/normal modes with perma-death disabled to require all three main characters to die in a chapter for it to be a defeat for that chapter. That way losing one unit at the end won't require a full restart if playing with perma-death disabled.

Also just a head's up that you can currently hit ENTER/Return to skip all dialogue/scenes so the restart should go much faster, usually less than 10 seconds.

I'm working on getting a couple more changes in, so I'm targeting tomorrow or the day after that.

Agree on saves. Understand the tension it builds, but mostly just annoyance with the limited time I have to play.

But do again want to state how much Im enjoying the game overall. Love little gems like this.
Im sadly done with this game until a patch. Level 15, I had Marcus blocking a choke point with a defender.

He killed 13 enemies, but was slowly whittled down by the overwhelming enemy numbers. If he had just left them alive it would have worked fine. Losing over something I have no control over is just frustrating.

Third time Ive had to restart this level due to a main character dying. Last time it was Illyana getting one shotted by an enemy that avoided ZOC on turn 12.

Fun game, just will wait until manual saves or defeat conditions change.

Ack damn if only I got the patch in a couple hours sooner. The defeat conditions are now changed to Marcus+Slyker+Illyana ALL being defeated if you're playing with perma-death disabled and on casual/normal difficulty! I hope this helps reduce the frustration of having to restart chapters due to main characters.

Actually pretty funny lol. Let me know how it goes! I tested it a bunch on my end, but want to make sure from other people it's working as well on their runs.
