What anti-weapon refinements do you use on which weapon?
Anti-axe on swords obviously, but what else? In particular, what do you put on a spear?

I think the big thing would be anti-lance refines on dodge units until you get the refines you want. I have trouble with that in my mind because I hate buying items that I'll ultimately just sell later/never use again.

But otherwise I don't usually use them too often. The +avoid on them feels too low to be useful on slow units, and faster units usually have better options. I feel like some of the lower use items that you only ever see in the shop could benefit from having enemies drop an instance of in the game so the user is incentivized to use them. I don't think I've ever used the Whetstone, for example.

Hmm. Wouldn't you want anti-lance on Defender-based classes - to be able to hit spear/lance units? Spear/lance units will hardly ever hurt Defender-based classes anyways, so the priority is to give Defenders the ability to ensure they hit the spear/lance units back.

I never use defender units so that's probably why I don't really think about it in that way. No reason to spend resources on units that I plan on just stealing the gear from and shelving anyway.

Ah, that makes sense. I at least use poor lonely Arland! ;)

I think the lance is best option, then sword. I don't see as much value in axe.
Lance being best because you can play around softening a target with sword or axe and never take damage from them, with lance they have first strike, they also have extra hit on offense. So the only counterplay is backstabbing or using a first strike weapon yourself.
Swords because sword wearing units like enemy blade masters have enough agility to double attack, and have good evasion. This is more so appealing later in the game, but at that point you have more appealing options than these, but I do think they age well here.
Axes well, the axes really hurt your defenders the most and well they were not going to dodge regardless.
Doing a run where I'm just doing standard weapon triangle refinements, and it's very silly. Not sure it's worth it, or how much impact it's been having, but I'm having fun

Yeah, I think that's what I am going to do: anti-spear/lance on spear/lances and anti-axe on swords. And Honed on axes.

What do you mean "standard weapon triangle"?

In FE games, Swords beat axes, axes beat lances, lances beat swords. If you use the correct weapon against someone, you get bonuses to hit, avoid, and damage. If you do the opposite, you get debuffs instead.
