Camera controls shouldn't be the same as aiming
I would like an option to have the camera rotate based on the direction you are moving, rather than your aim rotating the camera. The control scheme in the demo made aiming a lot harder because the camera would spin when you aim.

I saw the news about the anniversary update, disappointing that they still seemed to do nothing about the weird "camera swiveling" that most of us chatted about in this thread last year. I was hoping they'd either change it or at least add a player option to disable it for a more traditional camera view. :steamsad:

I was reminded of this game when checking out a top-down helicopter game in which the game world swivels around the helicopter as you steer it, blargh. :steamsalty:

I understand some devs sticking their metaphorical feet in the sand and saying "working as designed," but if something causes nausea, discomfort and locks out players who would otherwise be willing to buy and try the game, I don't understand not at least trying to make a change.

Honestly, just about every top-down and isometric shooter I play has NO frantic camera swiveling-rotating at all. It's fixed in place. I'd love to have an option to have no camera swiveling at all, but I suspect that's not in the cards. I just don't think constantly disorienting players by swiveling the camera like it's on a swivel-camera-tripod is a good idea. :)

I've also played some where you have to manually move the camera (Thunder Tier One), and it's just maddening.

In the menu you can slow camera swiveling.

That's not what I was requesting. I've already tweaked that setting.

yeah, the camera swinging with aim is nausea inducing

That's what I could recommend now. I reported that to the dev team. We will evaluate all your feedback.

It might be a good idea to separate the camera controls from the mouse entirely and make it turn with buttons like Q/E.

You can look at Foxhole for controls inspiration.

I think the camera should be showing where I am shooting. This is much better when you play fast paced shooter. This option is much better for mouse and keyboard.

came here to echo this. I'd suggest the camera snap at 30 degree angles via keys. It's too nauseating to play when the aiming and the camera are the same.

Look at "The Ascent" for better controller options. The aim mechanism is broken as is. Took me about 5 minutes before I threw the controller across the room.

This was my exact thought when I started playing.. please just copy The Ascents aiming/camera controls.

Please take a look at the aiming and camera controls in "The Ascent". With current implemenation game is totally unplayable using game controller.

How in the world can anyone come up with this ridiculous controls? Devs never played a single twinstick shooter (and their own game) I guess.

I have to agree with most of the comments here. The world and aesthetic looks really interesting but the controls in combat are quite frustrating. The Ascent does combat really well.

Thank you for your feedback. I reported it to the dev team, we'll see what we can do to improve the experience before the full release.

For me the first bigger shootout is unbeatable. I have little expirience in top down shooters but I really liked the concept (being slavic myself and loving cyberpunk) so it's really disappointing to me. Please try to make it more approachable for newcomers to the genre!
