I just wanted to bring to your attention that I couldn’t break the jars. Someone else in the discussion board was also having trouble. I think that this aspect of the game needs to be reworked or have alternatives.
Like jim-p, I recommend leaving the jars until the endgame so you can get as high as possible with your broom. If you miss, hit the ground, and splat, you know the height is good and you can focus on the aim. If you don't go splat (by which I mean you get 'pancake mode' flattened Mika instead of the normal Mika model) then that's a good indicator you're not dropping from high enough.
