To Valve: free the original Meteor World Actor
If you are a Valve employee and stumble upon this thread, please consider forwarding this suggestion to anyone able to help with this situation.

To whom it may concern,

With the sequel coming to Steam very soon (and its demo being already up), I sincerely hope Valve/Steam will reconsider the first Meteor World Actor's status and allow it to be submitted again in some form. Not only does it make little sense to have the second entry available here without the first one, Meteor World Actor is an excellent visual novel which would remain extremely solid and worthy of a Steam release even without 18+ content.

To be completely honest, the fact the original VN was banned and not given a chance to be on Steam in spite of its sheer production value and quality, even without any 18+ content, still makes me mad. Even more so when asset swaps, so-called "games" with blatantly stolen artworks and character designs, and other scummy cash grabs are allowed to exist on this very platform. And let's not talk about having to buy it on another store, which was an atrocious experience in and of itself.

Also, the process of banning games without clear explanations nor giving any way to appeal the ban is from what I have seen not a case unique to this game, and although it is not quite the topic at hand, it is definitely the root of this situation. As a reader, I am fully confident MWA would be able to pass an objective review had it had its adult scenes removed.

I would thus also like to suggest reviewing the review process, in order to allow better communication between Valve and developers and give them a chance to edit their product without it being nipped in the bud. That is assuming you can call an advanced stage a "bud", since most banned VNs and games I know of were actually ready to go.

Thank you for your time and patience,
Sincerely yours,
Red

They reversed on Chaos;Head no? One would hope that means there's hope.
They reversed Chaos;Head Noah likely due to press and news outlets picking up the story and gaining traction plus the SciADV community was pretty vocal about it in trying to spread the message. Plus Chaos;Head Noah was set to release within a week of the drama blowing up and it was releasing on Switch in North America in stores which made Valve look even worse. The fact they outright told a publisher they aren't reversing previous apps shows at least for older titles they aren't changing their stance and the old titles are the ones people are fighting for and care about plus that will give publishers more confidence moving forward. Unless they reverse something like Muramasa or Meteor World Actor I don't have much faith especially with a statement like that towards JAST.
Our only hope would be an official Shiravune statement saying that Dungeon Travelers 2 was rejected from Steam and that they are looking into other options to bring it to PC. It would be a fairly similar situation with an ESRB-rated game getting an official statement regarding the ban, so that the game itself might be salvaged, plus it would allow bringing the focus back on other titles that were given the boot without much of a reason and no second chance. I mean, it's not like Shiravune and JAST didn't try to comply to Steam's demands to make all-ages versions of MWA and Muramasa, for example.

I just would love to play this on Steam Deck without having to Stream or do some complex back-end proton install thingy.
