unlocking characters

Now that the game is shutting down how do we go about unlocking the roster there's a few characters i really want but not enough gleamium

you will just have to ask for someone's .sav file that has them all.

You can already play every character offline. So unlocking characters now is a waste of time because you wont be able to play online anyway

Once the game goes offline at the end of S5, all characters will be unlocked. Just focus on getting cosmetics, characters are not worth the effort.

Is it actually true that once S5 ends that all the characters will be unlocked because I haven't seen any official source say that anywhere

Wonder if someone shared their ultimate save file that they could have all their cosmetics unlocked and possibly/hopefully shared with the community too?

Too bad there isn't a way for the community to merge save file data, to then hopefully have an Ultimate Holy save file with every cosmetic and every character unlocked

An ultimate save file can be shared if one exists. This game will be offline so there is no more server verification process.

They are all unlocked now for local mode. Start a local game right now if you want to confirm.

What about fighter abilities, like perks and different ultimates, do we get those unlocked too or do we only get to access what whatever we've bought/warmed before shutdown?

Perks need to be unlocked to be used in local coop, so I would imagine you need to unlock them before servers go down.

Luckily the game loves showering you with perk currency, so that shouldn't be too difficult.

Its likely someone is just gonna make a hacked save for the offline version of the game that unlocks everything.

Not an expert but I don't think it would be too hard. Just copy/paste sections of the .sav file that correlate to the unlockable. I have never done such an operation however so I don't know extactly how easy it is to mod.

You might also be able to figure out the configuration changes needed without a copy of the code to copy from but I guess it all remains to be seen.

Theoretically there are things they could do to tie the save info to your account, but hopefully they don't want to bother with dedicating dev time to that.
