Why Would They Pick Banana Guard ??

Playable banana guard before Marceline, the princesses, ice king, the lich, or billy (or even a character outside of AT altogether) is completely idiotic. Escpecially after teasing PowerPuff girls in the Joker trailer, to follow up the hype with banana guard is insane. It reminds me of the whole stripe situation where nobody really asked for gremlin, but we were fine when it dropped, but then stripe dropped and everybody was upset because why stripe over any other character that more popular/requested. I feel like the devs are making the same mistake twice and its a HUGE red flag. The only logical reason is because they already had him in the game, but even then you'd have to flesh out the moveset and hit/hurt boxes and make skins and voice lines. In conclusion, Banana Guard in the game before so many better chars is so devoid of logic. Ask anyone to name their favorite adventure time chars and i'd bet my life most ppl wouldn't name banana guard

The main reason is likely because those characters you mentioned will likely later be added as part of a battle-pass like Jason. Where as Banana Guard is a completely free character you get as a login bonus. Basically just a business decision since those other characters will bring a lot of hype and sell battlepasses where as Banana Guard wouldn't have.

While they are an iconic duo, your comparison isn't equal because Velma is a main character of Scooby Doo, she gets just as much screen time as everyone else. PLUS she literally has her own spinoff show. something banana guard will never come close to getting because he is LAMEEEEEEEEE

No, she isn't a main character, not any more than Daphne or Fred. No, she didn't get as much screen time as everyone else (feel free to prove me wrong, though). And everyone hates her spinoff show, it really shouldn't be brought up. It's considered trash by everyone except the creat-, you know what I think even the creators of that show hate that show.

That's why we're not using that version of Velma in this game, or that show's version of anyone else. That would be as tone deaf as using the DMC version of Dante in a platform fighter featuring him.

If you don't understand why that's important, let me remind you that this game is called "Multiversus," not "Adventure Time! Featuring Batman!" Tell me what Ice King brings to the table for people that aren't fans of the show. Creepy old guy with generic ice magic? Definitely more iconic than one of the most recognizable enemies from the games of one of the most popular characters in the world, right?

Also, I like that you brought up spinoffs twice. It makes me think of the Cleveland Show. "Of course people care about Cleveland, why do you think they gave him his own spinoff show?!"

I know why the game is called multiversus and if you would use just a tiny bit of brain power before responding you would know that me saying that banana guard is a bad pick from adventure time doesn't mean i wanna add more AT chars, im saying any other char from AT would've been better instead.
And i lovee how you tried to simplify ice king when youre defending a literal talking banana with zero depth to his gameplay or character. bro is actually just a mf with a spear. Plus anybody who watched cartoon network would know Ice King before banana guard PLUSSS a character who can fly, has penguin minions, and knows magic would be way more fun in a fighting game than a banana with a spear.

Also just as Velma is a main char in Scoody Doo, so is Shaggy, Daphne, and Fred. They are the MAIN cast. you wouldnt take a random person that they unmasked or something and put them in a game like this obviously because ppl would say "why not Daphne/Velma/Scooby/Fred". now just apply that logic to them putting banana guard in and you'll see how stupid you sound

in regards to the spinoff... yes you almost walked right into the point there lil buddy, the cleveland show has FOUR seasons so obviously somebody watched it and the character was popular enough for a spinoff to be aired in the first place

Bro chill out, they have plans to make alot of characters, not every single one is going to be your first pick out of the media they choose from.

they prob found banana gaurds move set more simple to balance and make then what they had/have plans for other characters.

this game has potential to have on of the widest and unique rosters in any fighting game ever, let them experiment, support them, and over time you will get what you want, and you will be happy you waited.

they shouldve spent that time working on improving the game

Banana wasn't a pick for an Adventure Time slot, he was an already-existing asset that they decided to flesh out. He wasn't specifically chosen as an AT character, so it's more of a question of "make Banana a full playable character" or "add someone from AT from scratch."

But yeah, I reiterate that even if they took the same amount of time, Ice King is still a worse choice. One is a wacky banana with a spear, the other is, as you said, a flying wizard with penguins. Banana just has more appeal to people who haven't seen Adventure Time.

they did it just to mess with you. also i think most players do not know any adventure time characters except for finn and that dog who play this game. the banana was a neutral character to put in the game for that series.
