Remember tier lists fever during beta?

I was looking for a Multiversus tier list today (not even playing these last days, but still wanted to hear some others' opinions about how's the meta), and I got "surprised" by the low amount of "multiversus tier list" videos in YT. Back in the beta, some guys were uploading like a million tier lists per week (to the point it got a bit obnoxious) but still it was striking to me how different the panorama is now in 1.0: there are only a few players uploading tier lists, and there's maybe one video per week/two weeks. I remember during beta "Multiversus tier list" even became a meme to get views in YT. Sadly, it says a lot about the current state of the game. Hope they can save this mess, will check from time to time to see if it's worth it.

Not much reason to make a tier list. Most people are in agreement that Joker, Bugs and Wonder Woman are the top of the crop right now, and that Jason and Velma are at the bottom with a couple of others like Reindog or Arya being seen as very weak and a few others being weak due to bugs.

There's very few that are average. Your character is either really good, really bad, or has a bunch of problems that either make them brokenly OP in the right circumstances or crippling to play as.

Iron Giant is a perfect example of being broken. He's pretty weak due to his giant nature making him just a combo pinata, but in the right circumstance (usually depends on the stage), he can still 0 to death you with incredibly little effort.

Yeah, my point was more focused on how the tier list phenomenon reflects so precisely the success or fall down of a game. Back in the days there were a gazillion tier list videos per week flooding my YT feed cause Multiversus was an insane money making machine, but now it seems it doesn't give views :')

And, on your topic, I think you're forgetting about Harley up there among the broken picks haha

Iono, one youtuber, with like, 5 mil subs, uploaded a video talking about the monetization and rifts and how predatory it all seemed.

He probably had more influence than any tier list or anything said here, or on discord.

I mean even then people would be making tier lists. Even if just to give a single hot take like "I actually think Reindog can be really good!" or something. You even highlight an interesting scenario with Iron Giant where he's a feast or famine character. Like where do you put that on a tier list? Answers would vary.

Just saying that people arent ignoring that aspect of the game because theres nothing to say. Theres plenty that could be said, people just don't like the game right now.
