Wtf are these hitboxes
Seriously I'm so sick of characters that can just spam these humongous combo starters that go way farther than the graphics show, like nothing matches up to what the characters are actually doing. I'm so sick of getting behind someone and attacking them only for my attack to immediately lose priority to someone who's attacking the wrong direction, playerfirst needs to go back in and fix these insanely disconnected hitboxes before any balance patches. Like finn and joker are literally the worst about this.

lmao I can't wait for someone to show what the hitboxes actually look like. Bugs' up-bat is at least galaxy sized. WW's F-air is a small solar system. Joker's F-air hit me with his foot.

shaggy when enraged.. his attacks are ranged tbh.

Jokers isn't as bad. Mostly his upper with his crowbar swing. The rest are mostly accurate. But Finn..Bugs. so many others can just suck you into the attack even if it should've missed.

Honestly, Joker gets a bad rap despite it being not that hard to read what he'll do. 2 Jokers duking it out is always a good fight so long as both are decent players.
But man..there are some characters where 90% of their' kit needs hitbox nerfs among other things.

Tom And Jerry being another example, but i'd even go further in saying the firework attack needs a small cooldown. Cause i swear...EVERY TaJ i encounter just spams it a large amount.
I don't mind the crazy projectile game, But that one in particular just seems to need a CD.

I'm sick of it too. When I happen to hit, the game ignores it, but other players ALWAYS can hit me, like ANYTIME. Every. Single. TIME.

Really?? Jokers not that bad?? His regular neutral attack is a combo starter that comes out fast and hits like 3x farther than his body. You cant go over it because its also an anti-air, you cant dodge through because the second attack will come out before you get anything off, it has virtually no endlag, so you just have to run away and not let it hit you, then hope he does some other attack at some point. They clearly wanted to make him op to get people to buy him, but now new characters are coming out its time to nerf him.

By that proxy, then Finn, Jake, Tom and Jerry and more all need nerfed too.Even while playing as other characters, I still have an easier time against Joker than a lot of others.

Jake??? Imo jake is one of the worst characters in this game right now. Tom and jerry do have an oppressive neutral, but they don't do much damage and struggle to kill, plus get knocked out fast. Joker has these broken hitboxes plus no real weaknesses to his kit. Granted, this post is about hitboxes going farther than they should, and all of the character's hitboxes should be fixed to match what the game is showing, even the bad ones like jake, for consistency's sake, but joker is insanely broken on all levels.

peoples jabs hitting behind them is so egregious, how are you supposed to whiff punish or counter hit them. devs have no clue what they are doing

i remember in beta someone got the hit boxes for the characters, i don't really remember them, but the one that really stood out was finn's backpack that would dislocate its self and hit 3x further than the animation

They had 2 years to fix this. 2 years. Instead they wanted to pad their resumes with "UE5 experience".

They didn't want to. WB forced them to. Have to remember they answer to the megacorp that makes movies just to kill them for tax write offs.

I have never seen a product owner dictate what tools a development team uses. Direction of the project, scope, timeline, priorities, requirements, stuff like that sure; but never what tech is used. That's exclusively a development lead's push based on project requirements.

In my experience product managers are primarily looking to get the most done with the least amount of money, and the license to use UE5 on this project undoubtedly cost some extra dollars. So I highly doubt the port was WB's idea. This is undoubtedly over confident devs who wanted UE5 experience.

Besides, even if this is bizarro world where WB did push for burning money on UE5, whoever is the product lead at PFG should have known trying to port the entire game to UE5, when they were already using a seasoned version of UE4, was going to be a terrible time investment. No matter how you spin this, PFG leads come off as incompetent.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it could be different for a game studio like EA or SE that have their own in-house engines or bulk/premium deals on 3rd party engines. Still, I don't see how this would happen to Multiversus, considering it was already created in UE4. Moving to UE5 would still be a monetary cost and heavy time investment.
