He's definitely a strong character, which is why people are joking you don't need tips. If you just use those move that give him armor, it should definitely help. I don't think he's crazy overpowered, though. He gets countered very hard by that perk that adds armor break to dash attacks, his attacks are a little slow coming out.
Joker, T&J, and Harley have built in counters to him, just with attacks that hit so fast, specifically Joker's forward special air/down attack (down just straight up breaks armor, iirc) T&J's forward combo, and Harley's dash attack and forward combo and her down attack (comes out fast, travels a distance, and hits twice quickly, will probably break your armor before you hit, and if you swing too early, you'll miss the uppercut because she's too low). Those'll pretty much instantly shred any hyper armor.
Same with Bugs, kinda. Bugs's forward special breaks armor and has crazy knockback for a jab combo. I really don't recommend trying to freeze his safe or rocket with your breath, though. I'm fairly confident I remember those just cruising through that and bashing Supermans in the face when I was playing Bugs.
Most character's armor break is down attack, so it's harder for them to pull off, which makes them easier for Superman to fight. Only way you'll get better against those characters you listed is timing your air attacks, trying to bait out attacks, and get way away from them when they start to knock you up. They'll go for a double jump up special KO most of the time, and their attacks are huge, so don't try and dodge into them. Either try to make them whiff an attack and punish, or reposition and recover further into the stage. Use a special or dash to just go further away from them, if you need to.
Also, look out for that perk I mentioned, looks like a dude running towards or alongside a wall, or something. If you see someone using that, you can't rely on your armor too much, their dash attacks will just knock you straight out of it.
