What Brawlhalla Does Right And What MVS Does Wrong
Here are the multiple things MVS blundered on and how Brawlhalla succeeded by just doing the opposite.

1. Monetization

MVS: Predatory for no reason. Willingly sells you basic accessories for a character like a mask or a shirt for ridiculous prices. Not much worth buying outside of skins. And some skins are just plain lazy. Insane grinding that will have you playing the game like a job just to get one character. They 100 percent want you to empty your wallet on the character roster. Makes the rotating characters small on purpose to push you into buying. Billion dollar company btw. Essentially they hound psychologically to buy buy buy.

Brawlhalla: Chill and relaxed. Character rotation has eight characters per week which allows healthy variation for new players. Skins are actually good and high quality. Most skins cost 5-6 dollars. You can even splurge and get 3 skins for 5-6 dollars by just rolling a chest to get exclusive, limited time skins not in the regular store. Crossover skins are about 12.99 and are 100 percent worth it. Not to mention all of the other purchasable such ass podiums, sidekicks, colors, actually good emotes, KO effects etc etc you can buy. Allowing the user to customize their experience to the fullest. When you spend money on BH it feels natural and you're getting the proper bang for your buck.

2. Gameplay and Balance

MVS: Has no idea whether it wants to be casual or competitive or both. Randomly just threw in shields as a universal mechanic. Literally just throwing stuff at the wall to see if it sticks. Overall buggy, laggy and jank with hitboxes coded by a 5-year old. Braindead, over-tuned characters that make scrubs feel like they are gods or something. Infinites. Matches just become "Who can do their cheese first, and the fastest?"

Brawlhalla: Simple when you first pick it up, hard to master through the ranks. Weapons are reasonably balanced with each other. Every weapon can beat and be beaten by another weapon. Hitboxes are solid and make sense. No jank, rarely buggy. Actually brainpower and thought is required to win as you must employ movement and reading to win. Sig spamming exists, yes, but any player above Gold knows how to simply bait and dodge sigs to win. Sig spamming is for new players and scrubs who don't no how to actually play. Once you get higher up in ranks, that playstyle is used against you. When you lose, it feels like you lost on your own skill. Not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

3. Esports

MVS: No official Esports scene. Does not advertise a World Championship tournament. Small creators have to band together to make it happen. Billion dollar company can't even afford to do a 200K prize tournament but Capcom can drop a millie for their tournament in SF6. With no Esports, there is less hype for the game. Every fighter that isn't an arena fighter needs a pro scene to keep thriving. It advertises the game world wide, inspires people to get better at the game and sink more time into it, and its something to be excited for other than character releases.

Brawlhalla: BCX every year. Big prize money. Big names like Pavelski, Sandstorm, Impala, Yuz etc etc are well known in the BH community. Name 5 pro MVS players...exactly. BCX continually brings eyes on the game. Its a World Championship so Asia, South America, Oceania and Europe all get to play and the game gets advertised naturally. Something to be hype for outside of the game itself. Fun to watch and pulls in thousands of viewers. More hype means more potential players and thus more customers. Its a no brainer.

4. Mode Variety

MVS: Barely any.
You have the standard 1v1 and 2v2.

The horrible Rifts. The Arena mode. Wacky Weekend. Casual. Custom. Free For All. And then Ranked. Thats it.

Brawlhalla: Don't even get me started. If I listed every single extra mode outside of the standard 1v1 mode, we'd be here all day. But just to prove a point, I will anyways.

With plenty of custom rooms open to try out these modes with people online. Or if you just wanna pal around with your friends on the couch. And you might be saying "But BH had years to implement those modes11!!1" And PFG had more than enough time to think up or make just as many modes during their downtime between the beta and the rerelease. They have no excuses.

Overall, Brawlhalla simply delivers a solid game made for ENTERTAINMENT. Blue Mammoth Games or BMG (Brawlhalla devs) want to entertain you with their game first and foremost and THEN get paid. Whereas WB simply does not care for entertainment at all and just wants your money. This is why MVS is failing again. Because it has no soul. It's a mobile game masquerading as a "Smash killer". Whereas Brawlhalla does not even try to be a Smash killer at all and just does its own thing.

Brawlhalla plays like ass though. Also, all F2P models are cancer. Know who does it right? Smash and Slap City and basically no one else. FOMO for engagement is a ♥♥♥♥ practice.

Brawhalla IS NOT SMASH. It isn't a considered a platform fighter, tbh. It's literally do nothing until somebody attacks you. It's a camping game in a platform setting. That's it.

Yeah but Brawlhalla is a boring ugly slog so it loses overall.

This is why I never bothered with it.
I've tried to into Brawlhalla a few times and it just never clicked. I guess I have a reason now to give it another try, but I think I will continue to not like it.
