I assume just before shutting down they'll just give everyone for offline mode

i hope so. all skins too.
That would make most sense. In the alpha all characters and I THINK skins were usuable in custom lobbies. I assume they just want players to feel like they are actually progressing currently

I guess yeah. I mean rn there's really no point since it's all getting shut down. But hey, we get to have a game no one else gets after this lol

All characters are already available offline/local play.

I will never forgive them if they don't unlock all the stuff for us at the end. WB will be indefinitely on my ♥♥♥♥ list for forseeable future in all aspect

Decided to fire it up today, saw that all the characters I worked on for so long were no longer level 15, and shut it down.

I highly doubt I'll be playing it again later, even if everything is unlocked offline. Farewell, MultiVersus. You won't be missed... but I do hope other developers use it as an example of what NOT to do in a video game.

It wasn't the devs fault. The studio is being shut down by Warner Brothers.

Probably because this game isn't profitable.

Why? Because people aren't playing it.

Why aren't people playing it? Lots of reasons, which is why it should be studied as a mistake of the past.

No, it was because Warner Bros. was downsizing its gaming division. It also shut down the studio making the Wonder Woman game at the same time, and you can't blame that on profitability.

Hey, if Warner Brothers' gaming division was profitable, there's be no reason to downsize. :rose: However, a good portion of that is due to the WB execs making boneheaded moves in terms of their games, such as "Kill the Justice League." MultiVersus got he axe because - let's be honest - more people spent their time here complaining about the game post-relaunch than actually playing it. I played through the open beta, came back at the relaunch, and the sheer number of microtransactions and having to go through dailies I had no interest in (mostly the multiplayer requirements) drove me away again. I have no "FOMO" when it's stuff I don't want to be involved with in the first place, and I have a feeling that most of the players had a similar sentiment.

So you didn't play it once since it rereleased? I'm pretty sure they only reset the levels during relaunch.

I did play it after the relaunch, for about two or three weeks into Season 1. I quit shortly after they introduced Joker. Although I thought they improved a few things (I liked the slower speed, but I'm in the minority there), but other elements - which I discussed above - drove me away.

I enjoyed the slower speed a lot too, so I guess we're in the minority together. The only thing I see you mentioned was the monetization and FOMO approach which are definitely fair complaints, but personally I think both of those were insanely overplayed. I just wish Warner Bros didn't buy the studio because I think it could have turned out differently.
