Battlepass Model, too greedy.

So just saw the new battlepass and noticed that there is no way to unlock the next season's battlepass without paying. Not sure if this is just for the season 1 pass or anything but feels like it's way too greedy.
It has the fortnite model where it costs 950 currency to unlock the pass (about 10$) but there is no way to earn any of the currency from the pass itself so that means every season they expect me to dish out 10$ ON TOP of having super expensive cosmetics?
It's ether expensive cosmetics and a way to earn the battlepass, or cheap cosmetics and pay for the battlepass. You can't have your cake and eat it too WB. I'm not paying for the new battlepass when i just paid for the pre-season pass a couple off weeks ago.

I'm not arguing the value of the battlepass, i'm arguing the battlepass model.

Apex BP cost 1200 Apex Coins and completing the BP gives 1200 coins
Fortnite cost 950 V Bucks while giving the player 1500 V Bucks back
Warzone BP cost 1000 COD points and you can get 1300 back

Most companies give back the currency to keep their play count up. The more players you have constantly playing the longer your game will last and the more people will spend on it.

This, also the devs stated in the Q&A battle pass stuff isn't even exclusive so it might even appear in the store later on. No FOMO here bros.

Some people here don't realize the battlepass is the only thing they're pretty sure people are going to buy because it's actually worth it (if you grind it).
Why would they give you enough gleamium to buy another one? How is that worth it for them?

Beside, it is actually a lot cheaper than I expected, 10€ for 50 levels of content (provided you grind for it).

Right now from my point of view; the Battlepass is how you can support the development team for a smaller sum than opting for a founder pack. although other dev teams may add currency to their passes, they are backed by more prestigious companies that can afford the drop in revenue. Player First Games is still new and small, mistakes in development and implementation are sure to be common. i will hold no grudge as long as they learn from our outcries and make an effort to improve, just don't expect everything overnight.

the WB emblem has been so tarnished recently. i doubt they are funding the game in it's entirety, likely only allowing the use of IP.

I have nothing against Player First games i am sure that they had planned to make the pass give free currency. That's why in my post i call out WB, not Player First games.
This is most likely something Player First Games wanted in the pass, but the suits at WB made them change. Which is my main issue there the suits at WB most likely interfering with the developers vision for the game.

The battle pass offers items at a heavily discounted rate, they aren't unique to the pass only, so you're getting some of the 'super expensive' cosmetics you wanted.

It focuses on short term profits instead of long term profits. If they want to maintain a high playerbase for years they will have to have incentives in place to keep players coming back.

I think the price for the battle pass is reasonable if you would have liked to get any of the skins and other gimmicks for gleamium instead, which of course would cost more.

Just look at what's in it and then decide. You don't need the battle pass to enjoy playing the game. To me the current Harley skin is worth it alone.
