How do you directional attack after running?
I just find it SUPER difficult when I am running toward an opponent and I don't want to do a slide attack, that if I want to do a directional attack on them I have to let go of the move direction, then press it again with the attack button.
Is there a simpler solution to do a side+attack while running without doing a sliding attack?

I'm having trouble with Arya btw to face steal, which would be best after a directional attack, but I can't execute one during running around...

You can do neutral normal or neutral special with a specific button for each, even during a run or moving around mid air. On ctrler it's LB/RB dunno for MKB.

But doesn't that result in a slide attack as well? (Holding direction + attack)

No. Those buttons are specifically for "neutral normal/special" regardless of holding a direction or not.

It won't help you with side atk VS dash atk though.

But that's my question tho. How to do a side attack instead of a dash attack in the midst of running around?

That was "one" of your questions. I answered the other. You're welcome for that. I can't help with the rest.

All I know is that if you're already running and do a "side atk" you get a dash atk. You need to not be running already for it to be a side atk. And I don't know of any specific input for that.

What I do is dodge then side attack instead of slide attacking even after running, it helps me a lot with my combos.
