from what i can recall from beta, the game was less spam same attacks over and over, there was an obvious attack decay(at the start of beta this feature was not there) so you would have to switch to different attacks or else the one you kept using would do less damage and knockback.
also during beta i don't remember them ever just taking a character away because it has some issue they had to fix, they just fixed it.
People seem to think it was better, but I played a lot of the beta right until it shut down and I think it's way better now. Most people seem to have either made up their mind before it relaunched or had way too high expectations.
Just different for me. Before, game was like smash and brawlhalla, and not it has its own identify: Characters are bigger now, scenarios are much reduced and speed is slower. This allows for more accurate hits and control of the char in my oppinion, like a more professional experience. I like that this game became different from other similar games, It's true that WB pressured PFG to release the game with a lot of thinks unfinished, and they need time to solve it. But I think they are working hard in releasing new updates with changes, E.g FFA, balance patchs, solving infitine combos, etc. And ranked still is not available. But just needs some time.
But a lot of people don't like it this way. And a huge amount of bad comments are coming from trolls, they insist that the game is dead all the time. It's up to the people gibve them credit or not, but for me, game is healthier than before.
Devs wiped a bunch of accounts during the transfer from beta to release, including hundreds of players' paid purchases. Dev's still have not addressed this issue, publicly acknowledged the issue, or remedied the issue in any way and it has been over 30 days. 0 help from customer support.
theft.
also data collection laws they broke a month ago with a broken link to their opt out of data collection.
just overall complete scum baggery in every decision they make in the game.
completely wrong, the beta was a spam fest. Characters like shaggy and taz can spam 1 move (side special) the whole fight and win. There was ways to play around attack decay, (not 100% sure) but it was something like using another move twice to reset attack decay.
The beta was riddled with major issues which they for the most part have fix in this version. Most people had no idea, but Multiverses had ping advantage in the beta. Just think about that... ping advantage in a fighting game. Player closet to the server had attack priority on everything LMAO
wont let me quote so im doing so manually ig, i think you summed it up nicely the games new speed just isnt good for agressive players and most people that played are from the beta so chances are that old speed was a main part of why, i used to thrive with arya, playing her anymore feels miserable unless im sitting still managing to punish everything that comes at me i started playing wonder woman and the game went to easy mode, i think the new speed just threw off any amount of balance the game had before really. most people can understand features not being present yet, but gameplay changes like that cant just be overlooked.
hadnt heard about any of that til now, kinda crazy how thats flying under the radar.
= dead game
So I guess you could say it's "Internet advantage" at best.
yeah.. its bad. I try to give all people the benefit of the doubt until it is painfully clear that those people are acting willfully with malice. I have no benefit of the doubt to give to these devs.
There was ping advantage, I've tested it with friends from west coast to east cost in the US. MVS beta had terrible matchmaking system that would choose a server closest to one of the players for one match then alternate next match. i had over 1k hours in the MVS beta, i knew about all the major issues the beta had.
You understand why most fighting games don't use Dedicated servers right? It's because of ping advantage and other issues like netcode. Even riots next fighting game decided to go with multiple servers in-order to solve the ping advantage issue.
"If both players can connect to the server with less than 150ms, then it will feel "Offline"
-you understand how stupid that sounds? 100ms does not just disappear. The netcode can only do so much after that its either input delay or desync. MVS beta didn't even have true rollback. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0BtRrGXnic
