Multiversus's update today paywallls the bottom lane of techno terror

Techno terror's bottom lane requires friday the 13th and used to let you pick jason, but they removed the option so now you have to buy a 5$ skin to play the two levels. Additionally (at least for me) The daily rewards are down there so I can't get todays dailys from there which if you didnt know is a big deal in completing the campaign bosses for agent smith.

Idk what the thought process of this was other than to try to drive sales through the store, jason is friday the 13th as far as I care. I cant imagine anyone complaining about him being a playable character when you only get 4 options "IF you have the skins".

I dont know if any of those playable skins were given out for free, but I don't own them and I have been completing a massive amount of these missions.

Isn't that still a pay wall though? Doesn't help you if you come into the game later past those events being ran, or don't even have those characters.

Considering how many players this game has bled, making the game difficult to get into for new players is not what they should be doing for the continued survival of this game in my opinion.

Technically it's possible to avoid the pay wall by just joining up with someone who has the skins and characters, but like, new players aren't going to do that. They'll just leave.

Actually turns out the rift is bugged, which was ironically what I was thinking because nothing in this game seems to work out properly. So temporarily paywalled due to ineptitude, I guess.


On the bonus side, some rifts that required Jason erroneously unlock Joker as a guest character instead, so I can clear off those 6 "use Joker's bazookas" weeklies I have without purchasing him.

Do Jason's Rift, and the one with either Bugs as the opponent or Shaggy/Batman as the opponents on the bottom branching path. Those are the only two missions where you can play Joker as a guest.

In the campaign which helps you get agent smith as a character. Some of the missions are locked behind skins and characters, and a lot of the ways to earn stars are locked behind both those things too. I was away for a week or so and I guess I missed enough content to not be able to do certain jason quests. So now if I want to catch up I need to spend 500 premium currency on a jason mask for harley or something.

Also 500 premium currency is not 5$ it turns out but instead you get 10% more if you spend 10$ to scam you a little more. So you cant just buy a 5$ skin with 5$. This is some manipulative phone app fortune 500 company money laundering right here. Nothing is straightforward and everything is built to abuse the player.
