He has HUGE endlag on several attacks, leaving him wide open. His jabs can very often drop you right out of the combo. His best kill option is the balloon and it is isn't as impossible to deal with as most think, As you just need to prioritize keeping from being above him.
He's nothing even close to Bugs, WW, Superman or Taz. Let alone Steven either.
Is that a lot?
I don't know man, I still find matches almost instantly, even 1v1.
If someone is arguing "these characters are too OP!" but then you name about half the roster as "OP" characters, wouldn't that kind of mean it's not the most unhealthy meta? an unhealthy meta would be 1 superior SSSS tier character stomping the rest of the roster, no?
Wonder Woman is majority vote for S tier who does indeed stomp the meta. Wonder Woman has everything a character could need: Heavy weight, armor on half her attacks, incredible damage, strong reach and her weapon doesn't extend her hurtbox (unlike half of the rest of the cast), great mobility and recovery, quick speed, and even has reach with her lasso, and her kill potential is some of the highest in the game. A number of her abilities have team support potential in 2v2s too to support her teammate WHILE she's also killing the opposition, so she dominates no matter what the mode. I'm waiting for her Fox cosplay skin.
For the rest of the cast that's high tier, it boils down to these characters having a huge boon that many other characters do not, and that's lacking having a hurt box on some of their attacks.
For example, if Arya attacks down while a Bugs swings up with his baseball bat and the attacks clash. Arya gets hit, but not Bugs.
Why is it like this? Because Arya's sword is a part of her character model and is with her at all times. Bug's baseball bat however is a different item that's not a part of his model that he literally appears out of nowhere, and so it doesn't have a hurt box. At least, this is what I have personally observed without any data mining. It's a trend that seems to be valid from just my observations, though.
Regardless of the reason, the inconsistency is extremely dumb, and is why a lot of characters really suck while many others are extremely good. The good characters can just juggle you with up airs, with no whiff punish, and if you counter attack with a weaker character, then you are just extending an arm out for them to smack to further juggle you with. These characters IF they're being juggled, at least have options to counter attack to stop it besides dodging, while the lower tiers simply having to try to find a way back down by only dodging or moving out of the way. With how floaty the game is, that's not easy to do, especially since lower tier characters also tend to be slower than their competition.
And, up air juggling is extremely easy. It often kills as low as 30 damage, because ceilings in this game are far too low.
The meta essentially becomes play a character who can air juggle, fish for a hit confirmation, and often kill with little to no counterplay. Even if you don't manage to kill, you probably just did 60~70 damage to your opponent spamming the same move multiple times in a row and there was nothing they could do to avoid it after the first hit. The next time will kill for sure.
