Question about Rick...

Why does it seem that no matter what I do, Rick has priority in every move? No matter what attack I start, he always connects first and goes through and I'm playing Arya.
Does he have range advantage or startup advantage? Trying to figure it out because if we both charge at eachother with an attack, it feels like 80% of the time his lands and I get punished. Also when I hit him he always recovers faster AND hits me back faster than I get to follow up... Bit confused here :\

Because the game is unfair, that's why. The way I deal with most characters is to stay away from them and make them chase me so I can punish them. I don't trust the game to be fair so I do everything I can to expose my opponent first.
