yeah I'm noticing that too, these "players" are just bots. Why aren't we being matched with the 80k players???

Probably to make everyone feel good that they're on a winning streak so they feel hooked before they get dropped into the real playerbase.

probably a matchmaking thing while it gathers your performance to give you a rating, that's my guess since i've seen several other games do the same, but not 100% sure.

So new, casual, and bad players don't get matched against tryhards or good players who 3 stock them with ease causing the new player to quit the game in frustration.

And casual still has matchmaking, just not as strict as ranked will.
