He's got such a brutal nerf coming.
He's straight broken right now. His jab combo breaks things like Gizmo's car and Bug's safe, Marvin's UFO, etc., in one hit. His forward charge also breaks them all in one hit (Shaggy's powered up kick doesn't, for context) and KO's at 70% near edges, also it's hitbox is literally a giant cube around him while he's performing it. You literally cannot hit him while he's doing it with a melee attack without getting hit, if you try to attack him (not special) from behind, he'll send you flying the direction he's charging, without taking a scratch. His air up attack all has way too much knockback, in my opinion, too, but that's more my take.
Enjoy him while he last.
then definitely banana guy for most braindead-easy-effective
Harley is really good in 1v1 because once she gets some damage on you she will just chain endless combos until you die. Wonder Woman is good in 1v1 because she's straight up broken overpowered. Bugs has insane buttons, but he's stronger in 2v2 because of the random zoning crap he throws about. Batman is probably one of the more balanced characters.
Combo's don't matter, when you can't do them, especially in this release of MVS. Bugs has an infinite to death, while having none of the problems iron giant has. At that point, either the cast needs nerfs or IG would need a buff.
Banana Guard I'm not sure about. His moves are hyper obnoxious unless you parry them but they're fairly okay to see coming, so a parry can be a punish every time. His KO power at low percents might still be too good tough.
That's the nature of Iron Giant's design. He either gets completely shut down or he destroys everything. Like I said: it's the one character I would actively like to see removed from the game.
No, Banana Guard is actually just overpowered. I'm pretty sure most people agree. We have Garnet, which is pretty trash, who seems designed entirely around the concept of "beating out your normals" (i.e. throw buttons and the opponent can't react with theirs) and then there's clown guard who does the exact same thing but 10 times better. Almost everything Banana guard does beats out your buttons, and he has to do absolutely nothing to get to that stage. The only problem this character has is that he cannot spam random nonsense all over the map, like Bugs or T&J.
Kinda odd reaction. You literally constructed your entire comment as a dichotomy between conjecture and certainty... I disagreed. There is not much to argue about Banana Guard; almost everyone thinks he's at least very strong.
Nothing to say about him breaking destructibles in one hit with nearly every attack? Found our banana guard main.
The thing that really gets me about him: is how broken he is, alongside with how boring as hell he is. Like, Finn is also a melee only character, but at least he's fun to play (against); he's got tons of chase with his forward special in the air, his backpack adds a lot of spice to gameplay, and anytime you lose to one that was hyper aggressive chasing you, it's not because of him ledgeguarding while you're at 60%, and more because you could of timed a dodge better or repositioned somewhere else.
Iron Giant may be strong, but at least it's fun to smack him around the stage once he starts getting into the high percents and his giant hitbox starts working against him. Plus, at least all of his attacks don't take less than a twentieth of a second to execute and are pretty telegraphed.
The whole fact that BG's forward special hits way behind and above him, with no indication that it's part of it's attack frames, is fundamentally broken it should, at the very least, be telegraphed. Iron Giants explosion when. He lands using his down special in the air isn't invisible, so why should banana guard's charge be?
