Automatic dash attack is dumb
I don't see many people talking about this but It's a competitive fighting game, I want to be the one who decides the movements I make and attacks I use.

It's really weird that the game decides for you that it's gonna be a dash attack because you're running, sometimes I just wanna side attack.

I can't emphasise this enough, how do I (the player) don't have control over my own movement and attacks? if I want to side attack after running I have to briefly stop running and then start the side attacks which really breaks the fluidity of everything and it's just awkward.

Just give me an option to disable the automatic dash attack and bind it to a specific key I want, give the players control of their own actions.

I like the dash attack, but auto dash attack seems weird for a fighting game.

I just realized it triggers all the time when moving before attacking, this whole time I though it was from double tapping. XD Well that explains the clunkyness.

It's like a reverse double tap mechanic where you do it to not dash... weird

this is killing the game for me

Agree completely. Biggest complaint with the control scheme currently.

Skill issue.

Make the last bit of your dash a dodge and you can side attack no problem.
This also gives you an extremely safe distance close to make sure the attack connects.

I think you missed the point. I'm not saying that you can't work around it, I specifically addressed a way to do side attacks anyway, this isn't the point.

The point is that it's dumb and inconvenient, if you can map out side attack left, right, up down, neutro, special left, up, right, down, neutro, etc etc, if you can map almost everything, why can't you map this?

there's literally no excuse.

You can get it to come out consistently by double tapping, but sometimes it just comes out randomly and I don't know why it does that. Maybe my inputs aren't clean enough and I'm buffering a dash without realizing, but it's hard to say really. I don't have a good feel for the buffer window, and when I'm playing I don't keep precise track of all my exact inputs.

It's not that, it really triggers when you walk for like a second so your next normal attack is gonna be a dash attack, if you interrupt the walk animation and attack it will be a normal side attack

I like the dash attack on principal, especially with how strong some of them can be. The problem is that they have a consistent way of triggering it but not a consistent way of NOT triggering it. Nor is it even clear at what point in your run the dash attack will come out. There are several solutions to this but as it stands, I agree that its not very good.
