No skill matchmaking?

I'm a new player and I feel like I am playing against people way, way, WAY above my skill level even after a couple dozen matches. Does this game not try and match similarly skilled players together? It's wild seeing someone with tags like, "1000+ kills" at the start of the match who can solo me from 0->Dead.

we have no idea about SBMM in the game. since it's "unranked" i assume no SBMM. so yeah, right now you will get a lot of sweats until ranked releases and they move on to ranked. sorry :(

there was soft mmr in the beta for 1s which i mainly played idk about 2s but might not have any now which would suck.

stick with it, from what i've seen the game seems to have SBMM. i'm having way harder matches now than when i started.
you just have to consider this is day 3, some people are just getting back into the game, SBMM isn't gonna be accurate on day 3. give it a few weeks :)

Update: I have been facing people with stickers that say stuff like "2000+" ringouts. Why am I matching against them? It really feels like there is no attempt at fair matchmaking at all.

its unranked. everyone is in the same pool
