Crossplay with friends not working

Hey all, I'm currently trying to play with a friend that is on PC while I'm on PS5 at the moment, as I have no access to my PC. We both have crossplay enabled, are both online and have each other added, but we are both appearing as offline too each other and we cannot accept invite request we send each other. If anyone has a fix, please and thank you.
