What are the diamonds/stars you get from the rift for?

It seems the first milestones don't give you anything, but that's probably because you don't get anything from them in general.

yet another unnecessarily confusing metric that likely doesnt matter. but you will never know because the designers of the UI dont play real games. only mobile/gacha games.

I learned that once you fill it up all the way you get the "Rift Cauldron". I don't know what it is but I wager it's some kind of "vault" that'll give you a bunch of random garbage.

You need to get it at least once for a training mission.
