Brawlhalla has way more players than any fighting game though. And is not even close. Take a look:

That game is too good. Easy to play. Great netcode. A lot of features and modes to play. You find matches in any mode in less than 5 seconds. An actual ranked mode with rewards. It's just fun to play.

I personally think it is not really fun to play honestly, I wish I could love it because I have the champion pack but as someone who grew up with Smash 64 I feel like the hitboxes are weird because of the 2d sprites, and i am not a big fan of that weapon system it feels like the first one to jump on the weapon. Granted I am not good at it either but that was my experience with it

Brawhalla was the first major alternative to Smash Bros for non-Nintendo players. It has interesing game mechanics, but the player base is one of the most toxic that's ever existed.
MVS came after all the others, and had everything to prove, a whole fanbase to build. It's harder to keep players on a game if they're already loyal to a game of the same genre.

i gave up on brawlhalla after like 2 hours many years ago. the characters all looked bland and felt the same.

it might be better in the long run though, i'd have to give it another try.
i only play rushdown characters in multiversus and having to play my opponent's game every single match gets exhausting

I think MultiVersus has nowhere to go but up. I haven't seen many games garner this much hate in Early Access, they aren't even making bad choices, it's just not optimal yet. Almost every character has a unique element or gimmick to them and it feels very fun to play to beta. I think with a little time, it will be even better.

I don't think its fun to play at all. Ranked at higher levels is just playing footsies and waiting for your opponent to attack so you can dodge and react. It's boring af.

If the devs keep adding more universally recognizable characters and, importantly, fix the lag, I'm sure it will create a bigger fanbase. The reason I started playing this was not only because it was Super Smash Bros. on PC, but because it has Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry in it.

That site is only pulling numbers from Steam. Not Epic, Xbox, or Playstation users FYI.

I know. Which is why I said Brawlhalla is played way more than any other game. Not even close. Brawlhalla has crossplay between Steam, Epic, Switch, PS4/5 and Xbox consoles. The second most played game there, Tekken, doesn't have crossplay at all.
