Why is the character roster so small compared to Smash Ultimate?
This alone makes the game dead on arrival. The only reason it has so much players is that the Online Multiplayer is actually playable compared to Nintendo's potato servers

Smash Ultimate reused a lot of characters and such from old games, including all old game DLC and new game DLC. Smash Ultimate release had a roster of 11 characters by that account, when in comparison Multiversus isn't even technically out yet.

Bad bait

Probably because it's the Beta and over half the characters aren't in yet?

They implied at least 30 characters in the store page for the Premium edition; specifically, "30 character unlock tokens". Plus look at the average F2P moba, having 50+ characters in their roster (Smite has over 70 if I recall).

I know it's not a fair comparison but it shows that Multiversus can have a sizable roster if they wanted.

bait.

16 characters is a great roster... the premium founders pack gives you 30 character tokens, so it's pretty easy to see they're going to expand it.
This is a new IP. Smash has been around for 2 decades. They've had a lot more time to develop characters.

because its not fully out and dosnt have years and years of development

Smite has over 120 and why compare a game like this to a MOBA??

For the next days they gonna reveal another character each day. They already revealed LeBron and Rick and Morty. Seems like they have a few characters already finished or in QA stage

Ultimate reused tons of assets and had a 4 year development cycle with a much larger team. Use your brain before saying ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Lmfao at dead on arrival. The roster is great to be an open beta, and over 30 characters have been leaked. Over 50k play it daily. Once it fully releases that number will sky rocket. This is the best fighting game in a very long time. Way better than SMB in my opinion. Waaaaay better than Brawlhalla by a mile. Yeah, so stick around for the ride my friend.

Clearly I've been gone too long. It was about 70 last time.

And besides, as I said:

The point is if WB wanted Multiversus to have a big roster, they can do it. There were many fighting games over the years that had 50+ characters in their roster, such as UMvC3 having a 50 character roster with few gameplay clones (versus MvC2 having many clones in it's 56 character roster). In the end it's the publisher's decision to go that far, they already implied at least 30 via the Premium Edition's store page.

they do want it to have a good roster, and they are, and they will. 16 is amazing and they have leaked the next 30. Not to mention more does not and enver will = better, look at ultimate. trash game many bad bad characters.
