Why does NO ONE play Steven?

He's been the character I've seen the least by far, and I play mostly Teams. I even see Taz and Arya more often. Steven has been almost completely absent, he's like finding a Lance user in Monster Hunter.

He's not a bad character and you only need a few matches to get up to speed with him. He's also the main character of his franchise which is, as far as I know, not unpopular. But you'd think Garnet was actually the main character, since I see her way more often. I know it's not related to his tier list position, since I see Lebron all the time. Is it because he has that little "Expert" tag next to his name? I would think so, if only I didn't see someone lazily trying out Iron Giant every few games.

So what's up? What's your excuse for playing everyone except Steven Universe?

The show is too modern for the average player, a lot of people have probably heard of him but knows nothing about the show.

I main steven... he's extremely overpowered if you use him right. Most people play Finn because they got no skill.

i agree. I got ass ♥♥♥♥♥♥ by this one player who was so damn annoying with his bubbles. ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Bubbles. I think there's a bigger learning curve for that character.

Finn is super easy to play. At least to me. It does get a little boring eventually when I play as him.

Yeah, you wouldn't think a bubble that only blocks 3 hits would be that bad, but it is. It lets you do a Smash-4-style shield-counter against most of the attacks in the game and, as another guy here pointed out, it lets your partner trade in situations they shouldn't have been able to.

I was in one match where I shielded Shaggy every time he did an empowered attack. At the end of a close match (last round of a Best of Three), he got off a cheap uppercut while at 150% while he was trying to recover from off-stage. He should have legit gotten spiked at the start of his animation, which would have lost us the game, but the shield protected him and he got a double-KO.

The enemy disconnected.

Bro what the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with you? Yeah, the 80s and 90s had some good cartoons, but like other decades, there was ALOT of ♥♥♥♥ too. Care Bears was just cutesy feel good ♥♥♥♥ that meant nothing, G.I. Joe was just made to sell toys(and also wasn't very good), Yo Yogi is.. Yo Yogi, Quack Pack is Disney trying to be as 90s as possible resulting in a show that does nothing good for its main characters. You gotta stop romanticizing the 80s and 90s dude. Every decade has good and bad things. You also gotta learn to not bring up completely irrelevant ♥♥♥♥ in discussions, cause seeing ♥♥♥♥ like this in a thread about Steven players is just weird.
