Copying your save over from macOS works :)

Copied my save from the Apple Arcade version on macOS over to the PC save folder and it loaded it right up, super happy! Can now play on the Steam Deck as well... works great even though it's not been tested by Valve yet

Never thought it’s possible to move over game saves progress from Apple Arcade !

Just bought this for steam deck decided steam platform is where I want my games to be

Thought I would have to play it all over again even tho I only made it to LV 59 on Arcade

I wonder if hot lava works like this too ?

hi how do I access the save file on macOS for those Apple Arcade games ??

Follow this path below on your machine... there were two files in there, gamesave.dat and levelsave.dat

/Users/[your_user_name]/Library/Containers/com.capybaragames.grindstoneOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/com.capybaragames.grindstoneOSX/saves/[super_long_string_id_here]/gamesave.dat

all result are just showing how to go setting to access iCloud with apple's useless support page

Any time! Once you have them, Steam stores them on PC in:

Steam\userdata\[your_steam_id]\1818690\remote\saves\[long_random_string]

You may have to launch the game on Steam first in order for it to generate that directory then quit the game and copy those two files into that directory

Worked like a charm for me, picked up right where I left off on iOS

If you have any issues, try turning Steam Cloud off temporarily for the game as it may keep trying to keep the last saves stored in Steam Cloud over the iOS ones you're trying to copy into that folder

It's hit and miss... I tried getting my Creaks iOS save over to Steam and was unsuccessful, it really is game-dependent, how the save files are stored, etc.

I haven't kept a list of games that support this method @pantheon0918, but the method would be the same for any other game. Either check in ~/Library/Application Support/[developer] or like for Grindstone, it could be in the Container in ~/Library/Containers folder

Sometimes it just depends the engine and the developer where the saves wind up (and if they're compatible)
